How I feel about this character
I mean not to be a basic gay but I wholeheartedly love Eivor. From the first like half hour of the game I knew I was going to love her. I am always a sucker for a confident and somewhat withdrawn badass with a heart of gold and Eivor just hits that perfectly. I especially love how soft she gets with the people she loves and how she is always trying her best to help everyone she can. She’s just so good.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Randvi, the years of mutual pining, the longing, the respect they hold for one another, that part at the end when Randvi kisses her so hard she looses her balance, it is all just *chef’s kiss*.
Vili, I am a basic bitch who loves a good childhood best friends to lovers story, especially with a nice lil years long separation thrown in their. Like their banter, the way they are so comfortable and caring with each other even after years with no contact, the stupid nicknames, again it is just *chef’s kiss*. If only ubisoft had let it be an actual romance and not just a one night stand
Also like low-key Valka, not as like a long term thing, maybe just like a casual fwb/fling type of deal when they were younger maybe idk.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Soma! I love the friendship that Soma and Eivor develop and I love how Eivor tries to model herself as a leader after Soma. They clearly respect and care for each other a lot and I wish we had gotten more in game time with them before *redacted* happens.
Also like theoretically Sigurd. Idk I think the game did a lot of telling but not showing how great their relationship is? Like I feel like there was a lot of like the writing being like “look at how much these two care for one another” but then not following that up with like in game depictions of it. There’s definitely flashes of it and I think if you get the “good ending” it kinda gets there but idk I found in general Sigurd’s character arc to be kinda messy (which I think is in part due to the actual game mechanics not the writing) and that kinda sours my interpretation of his and Eivor’s relationship.
Also I like the friendship she has with her crew (not including dag) and I love how she really just goes around England adopting small saxon kings.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I mean I don’t think it’s that unpopular on here but her voice is 10/10. The huskiness, the rasp, the range that Cecilie Stenspil brings to it, it is just perfection.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I mean maybe they’ll do this in the dlc’s but like I wish they had explored Evior’s loss of faith post Hordafylke more. It’s a really interesting direction to take her character in and I want to know more but I feel like they dropped the ball on it. Like there is just that one exchange with Guthrum and then it’s never brought up again.
