I’ve had plenty of experiences in the desert (where I live) and the forest, but this one really sticks out to me since I wasn’t the only one who witnessed it. And sorry it’s long, but I thought about submitting it a lot lately.

One weekend, in October last year, my cousin was getting married. So my aunt and uncle decided to rent a cabin for the weekend and invited our family to come stay with them. The cabin was deep in the forest and that in itself put me on edge. 

The cabin was fairly nice, though no one had any cell service and the TV had no signal. And the cabin was in the process of renovation, so there were open balconies through little doors and little storage holes all over the place.

The place had a very uneasy feel and after an hour or so, everyone felt it. But we shrugged it off, thinking that maybe ignoring it would make it better.

So the next day and the day of the wedding, everyone was in the process of getting ready and waiting. I was sitting on one of the couches, my mom and dad were on a couch on the other side of the room, and my grandma was in a recliner next to them. The living room we were in had large windows all around so we could see the deck that wrapped around as well. On the deck were three canvas chairs we moved back by the door.

While we sat there, there was a loud rumbling noise on the deck. We all looked out the window and watched as the chair in the middle moved by itself across the deck and stopped right at the edge. There was absolutely no wind, if anything, a tiny breeze. But even then, if that one chair had moved, then surely the others would have but they remained unmoved and untouched.

That freaked everyone out but we went to the wedding and had a good time and got over the initial creepiness of the event. But we still felt uneasy when we got back and I had gone to the bathroom and was washing my hands, just looking in the mirror. As I just spaced out, I watched as the air freshener on the toilet behind was thrown off. Luckily that was the last night there and I was eager to get out the next morning.

The week before my grandpa had passed away and my grandma kept saying it was probably him since we hadn’t had the memorial, but I don’t know. That felt much too sinister in my opinion to be my grandpa who was such a great and generous person.

One time a friend of mine brought a gallon of Neapolitan ice cream to my house and a bunch of my friends and I sat in a circle in my room eating it straight out of the tub and goofing off together and watching videos on YouTube and other fun stuff it's pretty much one of the best days of my life. 

Favorite person? My grandma

Favorite kids movie? Princess and the Frog but the wording of this question is dumb and I would like to emphasize that PRINCESS AND THE FROG IS GOLDEN AND MY THIRD FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL THE MOVIES

When do you feel at your best? When I'm with my friends (and wearing clean clothes)

Why are you so presh?! I don't know what presh is? Like I could google it but answering these questions is already going above and beyond my usual level of effort so uh yeah. Genetics?

That’s good that you do that. Most people seem to be glued to their phones, so it’s good to know that there’s still people who….focus on the people they’re with. I have this idea that the next time I hang out with one of my friends, I’ll tell them to change the password of my phone. That way I won’t focus on anything but them. And if anyone needs me, I can still pick up calls, you know?
