i'm not sure if you have seen this already but i just started the new season of dark winds and found out that craig zisk directed the first episode! the episode itself was very good (no surprise there) but it also made me wonder if amc might be doing some kind of talent pooling between these two shows. we already know christopher heyerdahl was in dark winds s3 and will be now joining the iwtv family. there were also those interns from the indigenous film academy who worked on the tvl season arranged by jessica matten. these two shows are my hands down favs on amc now so personally i'm quite excited about this possibility, but i also find it slightly amusing if amc decides to tie iwtv closer together with dark winds, instead of their other shows from the immortal universe. it's giving "parents subtly choosing favorite children who can go to college" and i'm kind of living for it.

I hadn't, anon! I haven't started s4 yet, but that's really delightful to know that Craig's directed the first ep, especially after Christopher was in the last season, and Jessica arranged the interns from the Indigenous Film Academy for TVL, like you said! It wouldn't surprise me if they were doing a bit of talent pooling, especially as it does feel like they (rightfully) understand IWTV and Dark Winds to be their two prestige shows - they were the ones that got the real Emmys push last year, after all.

It's not uncommon to do that generally, but it's interesting to me that it seems to be happening across departments. Now you have me curious if any of the crew has worked across both too.

You guys!!!! Is anyone on here a fan of x-files?? The slow burn is going to kill me and I’m on season 1. I don’t want to look up if they ever get together and somehow I’ve never been around people who watch the show, but I need to know if this will ever happen. I literally can’t take it.

Someone please let me know and around how long it takes, because I don’t want to spoil it all.

7. Which show do I wish had more seasons the most?

For your framing, I was talking to Alex about this when I was answering but it's a show we agree on: Carnivàle.

The story, the lore, the actors, the aesthetic, everything about that show was incredible and it got its budget absolutely yoinked and the show ended abruptly because HBO had other shows to make.

8. Which show do I think had too many seasons/episodes?

No but this list could get long. True Blood had a fun first season for me but it got more and more intolerable. Mayfair Witches because they beefed it hard and then beefed it again in the second season. Like come on.

I actually think a lot of shows needed to end earlier, but thankfully I am also largely not a fan of those shows and they're not coming to me.

I didn't just pick this because it's from S2 of Queer as Folk, I promise, but it was one of the few times I liked a song enough to dig up what it was and that was not easy with how I had to watch QAF when it was coming out and the general searchability of these things on the internet. Love that song.

Favourite character: In this house, we love and protect Detective Constable Albert Flight

Funniest character: It's a tie between Fred Best and Homer Jackson... nah, it's totally Fred

Best-looking character: Well, I won't say Flight again (although he's a cutie). So, let's go with the lovely Rose

3 favourite ships: Oh my, there are a lot... Rose/Bennet (they earned their happy ending); Reid/Jane Cobden (we could have had it aaaaaaaaalllll); but I also like Reid/Deborah Goren, and Reid/Jackson (someone just please love that tragic DI); and Raine/Susan (there is some really nice fic out there)

Least favourite character: See, this is hard, because the caliber of antagonists on this show is just *chef's kiss ... so, I'll say Jedediah Shine (because I could write many essays on his twisted pseudo-father-figure-emotional-blackmail dynamic with Flight)... but damn, if he isn't a great character

Least favourite ship: Shine/Flight (because, ugh, no thank you please); Reid/Mimi (I'm sorry, y'all... I did not like Mimi as a character); Mathilda/Samuel (because they were kind of boring)

Reason why I watch it: THE WRITING... especially the dialogue. See Silas Duggan's "Men of Old Stone" speech in s2

Why I started watching it: My guess is because after Being Human UK, I wanted to see DaMo (Damien Molony) in as many things as possible. And then I fell into the Void.

Jokes on you Sarah I don’t watch movies either dhdhdhdhd I just vibe and waste time with unmedicated adhd

Favorite Character: main character syndrome strikes again, it’s gotta be Hawkeye but besides him my next favorite is Mulcahy

Funniest Character: it’s a comedy show so I feel like they’re all funny but klinger especially so

Best-looking Character: hard to say, gonna go with trapper on this one

3 Favorite ships: hunnihawk, Hawkcahy and uh let’s put hawnk in there to for some spice.

Least favorite character: don’t really have a least favorite.

Least favorite ship: I don’t care for Margaret and Hawkeye romantically but their dynamic fascinates me

Reason why I watch it: it’s a genuinely good show and a cornerstone of American pop culture and I just think it’s neat

Why I started watching it: I was reading the tvtropes page for Tower Heist and saw that They categorized Alan Alda as playing against his type, contrast to him as Hawkeye and I was like: WAIT HES THE GUY IN THE WATCHMOJO VIDEOS THAT MENTION MASH?

And then I caught it on tv and got really into it.!
