There’s a guy I like in my math class, and I got him to read and watch GO and he just sent me a text saying he’s finished, he’d loved it, and that he identified most with Aziraphale, because he’s a bookworm and is indecisive but loyal. So I replied that I identified with our good friend Anthony janthony, because he comes across as cool and confident but is actually really confused and bad at his job.
And,,,,, has. a. huge. crush. on. Aziraphale.
I’m simultaneously so proud and scared shitless of how he’ll respond.

I simply can’t handle how genuine Michael Sheen is on Twitter.
He’s connecting with so many people regarding depression, gender identity and sexuality and letting them know it’s ok.
Also he just straight up has accepted his life is no longer his own and is Aziraphale’s life instead. Look! He said “my” in relation to this fan art of Az.

Good Omen Book Fandom Classic Fic Recs and Warnings: The Sacred And the Profane
I was going to make a list of fic recs and author recs from back when there was only the book fandom but then I realized that this one needs it’s own post. fic here. But I’m both telling you to read it, and to stay the heck away. If you are in a bad place emotionally, DON’T TOUCH IT. I am not even slightly exaggerating.
Do NOT go into this fic unless you are already in a good, safe headspace.
Read it when you have the option of getting a hug from someone if possible.
The fic: The Sacred and the Profane by afraie
Genre: tragedy/severe emotional pain which you are not ready for
Lets start by taking a look at some of the trigger warnings I think it deserves.
Trigger Warnings:
Tragedy, Casual Infanticide, depression, implied suicidal ideation, extreme heartbreak, feelings of helplessness, extreme grief, blunt instruments (how do i even warn for this part?), DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY GRIEVING FOR A CHILD (i can't over emphasize the need to warn for this. Please stay safe), Hurt/No Comfort, This doesn't have a happy ending. Multiple Character Deaths. and the framing of a particular scene as a "Mercy Killing” may trigger some people. Dissociation, child death.
Zirah is so messed up y’all. I don’t even know how to warn for half this stuff.
Why you might still choose to read it:
If you want a fic that will completely ruin you, this is the one to read. But I recommend having someone around who can hug you afterwards and won't ask for an explanation.
I have never read anything else that has affected me so strongly.
There is tragedy, and then there is this fic, which is something so much worse that we don't even have a word for it. It is amazingly well written and somehow everyone feels in character given the circumstances. It's horrifyingly well written. If you are thinking about reading this I want you to take every last one of those warnings extremely seriously and ask yourself it it's worth it to you. If it is, you will be joining a part of the Good Omens fandom that instinctively flinches every time someone shortens Aziraphale's name to “Zirah.” If you read it, you will probably feel like sharing this fic with people. Before you do, please consider that it could seriously hurt someone, and remember to include warnings. Try to make the warnings something people will take seriously.
Additional things worth noting:
It wasn't until the adaptation that some brilliant new fans thought of the Crowley as Raphael headcanon, so Crowley's angelic name is Caphriel, and Aziraphale becomes Zirah after falling. If that still sounds like fun premise, let me clarify. Zirah is what you get if you break Aziraphale into tiny pieces and then put him back together in a way that is just off somehow, and you can't explain why at first but then suddenly you can.The first hint is that Hastur and Ligur seem terrified of him in chapter 2. A little later in that chapter, is the first instance that required I add "casual infanticide" to the warnings for this fic. Things only get worse from there. They never get better. There is, theoretically, an epilogue. I have read this fic twice, ten years apart, but I’ve never managed to read the epilogue because i have been too devastated and had to go run to comfort fic immediately.
This is the most upsetting fanfic you will ever read and it will lull you into a false sense of security even if you’ve read it before and should know better.
Everything hurts now how do I stop crying?:
Go read Ordinary People by Daegaer so you can stop crying. It’s a happy fic where nothing hurts.
I am so sorry if you read The Sacred and the Profane, and it hurts you. I’ve just seen too many people rec this fic without warnings or context. I had to fix that.
Time commitment:
This is your day gone. You’re going to be a sobbing shrieking mess. it was bad enough when it was just a book but having read it now that I’m picturing Michael Sheen and David Tennant? I need you to believe me when I say that it is the worst thing. It’s so well written but it is the worst thing. You need to be in a position to make sure you can take care of your emotional needs and be safe.
Don’t read this unless you’re sure you’ll be safe. Please stay safe. There are other fics you can read. You don’t need to read this one if it’s not safe.
