Okay I need to say something about this

Disclaimer: I am not attacking the person who posted this. I am not attacking their values, beliefs, or opinions. They are fully entitled to this thought.

2020 has been traumatic for a lot of us. And not finding the good in it is okay. It doesn't make you weak, or incapable or unable. Maybe it did help you face challenges you never thought possible, and maybe you did grow exponentially because of them but still it doesn't have to be the best year of your life.

You do not have to capitalize on your trauma. You do not have to make it a fairytale moment where you can change your whole mindset and say "thank you for this pain, it has made me better"

2020 has been messy and unexpected and horrid in about a thousand different ways and you should be proud of yourself for surviving it. *in a moment of silence for all those who didn't*

It's allowed to be the worst year of your life. You are allowed to be ungrateful and angry and hurt over it. You are allowed to hate it. 2020 was not some life-changing miracle for most of us and that is perfectly okay.

We are not here to make every second of every day a part of our growth. Sometimes it is best to just sit down and wait for the rain.
