(P) Hey so I'm just wondering if you could answer for me what role Stiles had in the previous two seasons? I honestly thought he just wanted in Season 6 after the whole him being forgotten thingy idk was that part of the plot? I haven't actually watched those Seasons so I was hoping you could update me if possible :)
Thanks for giving me permission to publish this! I won’t be able to give a very detailed response unfortunately, since I haven’t watched seasons five or six (I assume you mean 5 & 6 and not 5B and 6A. If not, oops?) but maybe my followers could fill in some blanks.
I know season five started out months after s4 ended, the pack’s starting to talk about college and Stiles is panicking about the idea of the pack splitting and losing anyone else (*cough* the way he lost Derek.) Throughout 5A, I know Stiles ends up getting more and more isolated from everyone as Theo causes general chaos in the group. There are a bunch of chimera teenagers who were experimented on by the Dread Doctors and then set loose(..?) One of them threatens to kill the Sheriff and Stiles gets into a fight with him and ends up accidentally(?) killing him. (I’m not sure if killing him was actually intentional in the heat of the moment or more of an “I pushed him and he fell into a pole” type of thing, but either way it was self defense and to keep the Sheriff alive.)
Stiles doesn’t tell anyone about killing the chimera, and eventually Theo uses that to put a wedge between him and Scott. Scott decides to trust Theo’s version of events and walks away from Stiles, leaving him totally traumatized and...
That’s literally all I know about Stiles in season five. I can’t remember anything about 5B, wow. I’m pretty sure Scott and Stiles resolve things at some point. And... was 5B the one with the random were-lion..? Or was that part of season 6, along with the Hunt..?
Anyway, if someone else can talk about 5B that would be awesome because I’ve got nothing.
Stiles’ physical role was greatly reduced in 6A, partly because of Dylan’s film schedule (shooting The Death Cure), and partly because of an injury he suffered on the Death Cure set. But his disappearance was pretty much the driving force of the season. Basically at the start of 6A he’s abducted by a group called The Wild Hunt, and they do an unbelievably sloppy job of wiping him out of existence. Everyone forgets him, most of his personal items disappear, and he gets stuck in some... supernatural waiting room for some reason.
Don’t ask me why.
I mean... honestly. I have literally no concept of what the Hunt’s motives are here. (Or why they were so bad at their job after riding around doing this for centuries.)
Anyway, so 97% of the season for Stiles is basically him sitting in a ghosty railroad station, waiting to be rescued, until the pack or the Sheriff or someone gets him out. Everyone remembers him, then everyone more or less goes back to normal.
Then he applies to “FBI school” in Washington DC and... as far as I can tell, he’ll be heading there before 6B starts. Which is why he won’t be around as much as the rest of the cast for 6B. (The RL explanation being, again, film scheduling conflicts for Dylan.) He’ll probably be in DC, out of sight, for the first eight or nine episodes, and will probably only be back for the show’s end.

Stiles, busting in angry and out of breath: He pushed me down on the fucking stairs!
Josh: I'm going to Taco Bell, you want anything?
Theo: I want Stiles to embrace who he really is and join my pack.
Josh: Yeah, I have like... 12 dollars.
Corey: I did what was expected of me, which was nothing.
Desert Wolf: You ready to fucking die?
Malia: I’m a bad bitch, you can’t kill me!
Theo: Wanna kick my ass? It’s cathartic, according to Stiles.
Malia: Maybe in a little bit.
Theo: Whenever.
