i am certain of the opinion that as a thiam fandom we do not talk enough about the scene (1:48 minutes of pure ahhhhh) in season 6x17 where liam has gabe against the mirror, losing control, literally ready to snap and being almost happy to do it after mason and the pack have been shot at scott's house and all of sudden, in the reflection of the cracked mirror (i sense a symbolism i can't quite catch) OVER LIAM'S SHOULDER (LITERALLY A DEVIL/ANGEL SITUATION OMG IM GONNA F CRY AND SCREAM) Theo appears all sexy, long-sleeve black shirt, crossed arms and super calm like it is an everyday thing finding someone beating out another while their eyes are all yellow—... lol, okay technically for theo is but that's not the point! THE POINT IS that theo is calm, he doesn't demand liam's attention, he waits for liam to notice him (which i think is also theo's ex-villanesque, gay-ass dramatic flare) and my first response is to f laugh BECAUSE HOW THE F DID HE KNOW THAT LIAM WAS READY TO GET SOME BLOOD ON HIS HANDS? we know theo has a liam-sixth sense and i SWEAR ON MY NAME THAT THEO ALREADY UNDERSTOOD THAT HE IS BECOMING/HAS BECOME LIAM'S ANCHOR, so what happened there?
a) was he already going to the school? but why would he?
b) did he actually sense liam getting angry because he is tuning himself onto liam's pheromones and heartbeat? and drove to school to stop liam?
c) was he controlling/guarding liam to make sure he wont get taken/killed? (bc liam is also his anchor? bc theo wants to protect liam's innocence? bc theo CAAAAARES "you're kidding, right? i would do all of this to keep you from being taken!"/liam: "why do you keep trying save me?") and this goes hand to hand with option b)
GOING BACK TO THE SCENE, IT STARTS WITH LIAM SAYING to gabe: "do you think we will kill you? do you think we are all killers? maybe we should be!"
AND THEN LIAM SEES THEO'S REFLECTION ABOVE HIS SHOULDER BC THEO IS THAT KILLER! HE IS A SUPERNATURAL/SCIENCE-EXPERIMENT THAT CHECKS ALL THE BOXES TO WHAT THE HUNTERS ARE SCARED OF AND LIAM SAYING "maybe we should be" is saying that they should be like theo, a person they despised and didnt trust and punished for his actions. That killed and manipulated and was selfish -- meaning consequentially, liam becoming like theo (oh, did i find the symbolism of theo reflected to liam on a cracked, bloody mirror? did i?!)
and theo responds to all of that by making fun/daring/haunting liam's anger and thirst for blood by asking: "you're gonna really kill him?" bc that's what liam does to theo at the start, before starting trusting him: liam spits theo's fault and words in theo's face and theo does the same here but not with the intention to hurt liam (like liam does) but to make liam reflect that becoming a killer means actually KILLING, it is not a game, when you do that step you can't go back and then he twists the finger on that fact by adding: "i mean i dont care if you do" (reminding that theo doesnt care bc he is that killer that liam says he wants to be. he doesnt care if liam kills (LIAAAAR THEO SO MUCH WOULD, THAT'S THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE SCENE AND LIAM UNDERSTANDS IT BC HE LATER ASKS "why do you keep trying to save me?" PHYSICALLY BUT ALSO SAVING LIAM SOUUUUUUUL IM GONNA F THROW UP THESE GAAAY BITCHES I CANT I CANT) bc he is not scott almighty, theo's moral compass is fucked but he knows liam is just talking, liam cares about his moral compass so he continues with making appeal to liam's rationality aka his human side (i wont start another shit about how humans are everything beside rational but in this case they kinda are compared to their inner wolf -i vomited a lil in my mouth after writing inner wolf-): "but you thought this through?"
liam is angry, losing control, losing his rationality so theo knows he didnt think of the consequences of the actions liam was ready to do and so he starts that conversation for liam. he doesnt tell him to calm down bc that never f worked for anyone. he is acknowledging and accepting liam's anger and killing plans but still subtly offering a way out by asking if liam actually thought of it. he is not stepping onto liams anger bc liams anger honestly f makes sense after what he went and is going through and theo knows it! and theo pushes further this rationalising, this acknowledging and accepting and continues by asking: "any idea where you dump the body? no one saw you grab him, did they? because that could be a problem"
liam: "i dont care"
theo: "i dont care (LIAAAAAAR) either, at least let me help, im the one with the experience here. WE kill him, WE want to find the witnesses and kill them too" aka theo is literally gentle-boyfriending liam to that same conclusion that if you start killing it wont never end with only one person dead and liam doesnt want that AND THEO CAN ASSURE LIAM THAT LIAM DOESNT WANT THAT AND THEO KNOWS LIAM DOESNT WANT THAT BC THEO IS HAUNTED BY HIS KILLINGS TOO, EVERY NIGHT, THEO IS THE ONE WITH THE EXPERIENCE HERE! EXPERIENCE KILLING! AND DONT LET ME START ABOUT THEO'S 'if it's your problem, baby boi, it is not, it's OUR PROBLEM (bugs bunny communist meme insert here)
bc if liam really wants to go on that revenge path theo won't stop him, he will join liam so liam won't be alone, they are gonna be together with bloods on their hands...omg they are so f gay i f cant BUT THEO KNOWS LIAM DOESN'T ACTUALLY WANT TO GO THERE AND THAT'S WHEN HE TRIES TO GENTLE-STOP HIM WHILE LIAM IS BLIND BY ANGER AND CAN'T THINK ABOUT WHAT HE IS DOING AHHHHHHHH and knowing liam will regret it at the end (and not like theo regrets but genuinely regretting bc be never wanted it in the first place)
theo: "which means WE need shovels, some plastic bags, maybe a chainsaw" ... evil grocery list with theo raeken, how to dispose of bodies 101 loool
but it makes liam understand if you want to go there you need to have a plan not to get caught and let's be honest it is also to make fun of liam a little bit because that grocery list is ridiculous and ridicules liam's killing decision without the need for theo to say 'youre being a f idiot, get away from the pissing-in-his-pants asshole and calm the f down, see? when you dont think u look f stupid and make stupid decision like starting to f kill people!'
and liam lets gabe go. he looks at the cracked mirror, the blood and finally gets what he was readying himself to do bc of anger and losing control and he is pissed that theo calmed him down, that theo was right and liam doesn't want to go there and have blood on his hands : liam: "you made your point." and THEO IS STILL REFLECTED ON THE BLOODY CRACKED MIRROR OVER LIAM'S SHOULDER AHHHH (angel/devil pt.2 being liam's conscience ahhhhhhh)
and theo now got what he wanted aka liam calming down and understanding what he was ready to do BUT ALSO DIDN'T. HE DIDNT KILL GABE EVEN THO THEO WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD!
theo: "you didn't kill him" (and said so differently, gone is the making fun and soft theo is allll in)
THEO IS PRAISING LIAM FOR HAVING CALMED DOWN AND HAVING DONE THE RIGHT CHOICE ALOOOOONE BC THEO TOLD LIAM HE WOULD HAVE HELPED IF THAT'S WHAT LIAM REALLY F WANTED TO DO THEN THEO WOULD HAVE HELPED AND KILLED WITH HIIIM TO SHARE THE BLOOD TOGETHER AHHHHH; "it's progress"
and here we go, the question of the centuryyyyyyy! girls, the gays and the theeeeeeys, liam 'im confused and oblivious that theo is being flirting with me for an entire season but the world is going to shit and i have mixed feeling and zero time to have a bi-nic attack' asks: "why do you keep trying save me?" + "you think that will make scott forget everything you did? just let you into the pack? Scott's never gonna trust you!" (SCOTT NEVER BUT LIAM NEVER TALKED ABOUT HIMSELF UGGGGH IN F LOOOOVE)
and theo instead of saying the truth aka 'im in love with you bc youre pure and everything im not and you gave me a second chance when I would have understood if you hadnt bc im evil and i destroy everything i touch and i dont deserve nice things and you are the nicest thing i have ever had the honour to protect and touch and look at and admire and the world crashes onto you and spits in ur face but you are still trying to be kind and good and im want to drive with you anywhere, just look into your eyes in silence at a red light', he says "you might want to remember what Scott's goal has been all along, keep people alive!"
AND THEN GABE INTERRUPTS MY BABIES with "you should try harder" ...babe no one cares about u right now, shut uppp BUT he initiates another funny scene where theo 'i do not want Liam's hands to be dirty with blood BUT OH LOOK! MINE ALREADY ARE BITCH' + 'anything for you, beyonce (aka liam)' and dont let me start theo looks at gabe so disgusted ahahah
gabe spills the tea about the killings, liam looks at theo like 'you f hear this bitch, babe' AND THEO STEPS NEARER LIAM KINDA LIKE ALREADY WANTING TO PROTECT HIM FROM WHAT IS TO COME: "know what?" he is so pissed i love my gay baby
when gabe does not respond, theo sends a look at liam AND THEN GRABS GABE TO SMASH HIS FACE (AGAIN LOL) AGAINST THE MIRROR BC I REPEAT, HE WANTS LIAM CLEAN BUT THEO IS ALREADY F FULL OF BLOOD, WHAT IS SOME LIGHT TORTURE FOR HIM? AND LIAM DOES NOT CARE THAT THEO IS LIGHT TORTURING GABE LOL (... it's progress, eheh)
theo looks at liam, liam looks at theo (they are in love, your honour) and fin.
one minute and 48 seconds of pure queerness and so much understanding and love and i cant i cant THIS SCENE SHOULD BE MORE TALKED ABOUT, I LOVE MY POST-ZOO SCENE AND THEO'S SOFT SMILE BUT THIS ONE IS MY FAVOURITE!!!
theo really said let me maintain your hands clean and your soul pure and use mine, im gonna be your claws bc my hands were created for it, to kill and theo did but now he can do it for good and to make liam never go through that path bc theo doesnt care to be alone on there if it means that liam never will be (I LOVE MY GAY SOOOOON)
