Some more stuff from my Bench Trio Exile Arc AU, Technoblade and Bench Trio style!
Like I said before, they were found in the order of Ranboo, Tubbo, Tommy.
Tommy was found last, not because he was good at hiding, but because the other two tried harder to hide him than themselves.
Before the Clingy Duo were "properly" found, Techno knew they were there. He just Blatantly Ignored them.
Techno found out they were there when he caught a glimpse of Tubbo sprinting down the ladder to his basement after having his hands in his chests. He checked, and lo and behold, his shit was missing. He made the connection, that Tubbo=Tommy.
He found it curious that three 16 year olds were in his basement instead of, I dunno, in their nation??? But he was Socially Awkward, so he just settled for interrogating Phil the next time he visited.
He found it so goddamn ironic that they were exiled from their own nation, he didn't mention it out of nothing but common courtesy.
The only thing that changed was him giving them more supplies now (read: adding more stuff to the chest they usually steal from)
He tries to bond with Ranboo, because they technically live together, but this kid is just so fucking nervous and jittery, like Jesus Christ. He knew he didn't have the best reputation, but this kid acted as if he was gonna hit him for breathing.
He went to pat his shoulder once and the kid flinched so hard he literally curled up in himself. It was very concerning, because that shit didn't happen from nervousness. And Chat was clamoring about Dream, protect, and check on the other two gremlins in his basement.
He Refused to openly barge into their hidey-hole and say he's looking for them because it'll scare them he's socially awkward. So he sorta just lingers around the places he normally catches glimpses of them, and sees Tubbo again. This time he calls out to him
Technoblade, turning a page: Hello Tubbo.
Tubbo, red-handed taking his shit: . . . I plead the fifth.
Tubbo is bloody terrified, so he tells Techno he owes him for killing and traumatizing him.
Tubbo, obviously very scared: You killed me and traumatized me big man! Haha, that means you have to be nice to me!
Techno, guilty: Aight that checks out.
He really didn't want to argue with an obviously very terrified kid, so he agreed.
They form a chill kind of relationship, Techno nods to him every time they see each other and Tubbo slowly becomes more bold, asking him where things were, and eventually sitting with and talking to him of free will.
Tommy, obviously, chastised both of them, how can they be so stupid it's Technoblade, he's dangerous.
They, of course, ignore him.
Techno eventually "finds" Tommy in a chest, looking for some gapples. Tommy freezes up and prepares a dozen excuses and insults to use. Techno takes one glance at him and decides not to do anything, directing him to the chest with gapples and ruffling his hair, mumbling something about racoon and proper clothes, and probably therapy.
Tommy is befuddled, but becomes more bold, coming out of the whole when he was around, and hovering in his vicinity.
After a lot of nagging from the voices (or at least that's what he told himself) , he decides to make them proper clothes (read: Phil does, he can't make clothes for shit) to replace the pitiful rags they had on.
After a while, he decides to breach the topic of why they were there. They explain a bit, skipping over the most painful bits, and it's enough to convince Techno to raze that shit hole of a country, and once he done, kill Dream too.
And then the Butcher Army happened, cementing his choice.
