You see, I just thought of one more storyline we've been robbed of

Army vets Tommy and Eddie bonding over shared experiences, and Buck being jealous/worried because it's something he can't relate to, so what if Tommy doesn't need him anymore? What if Eddie doesn't need him anymore?

(this is not at all me projecting my SRD into Buck what are you talking about shhhh)

Anyway, maybe it's bc someone from Tommy's old unit has died or sth? Idk, but he and Eddie are spending a lot of time talking about how it feels, etc.

But when it comes the time to travel for the funeral, he invites Buck to go with him. And Buck says sth like 'Don't you want Eddie to go with you?' (not bitchy or spiteful, but bc he genuinely thinks Tommy would prefer that) and Tommy goes 'No, Evan. I need you there to support me.'

And that's how Buck starts to learn that being needed sometimes has nothing to do with things in common. It's about being supportive, about being the one Tommy wants to rely on

Idk, this isn't very thought out, but it'd be such a good episode that we're never getting bc Tim Minear can't let us have nice things
