The villain swept the hero off their feet and into a hug.
“What are you-” the hero said, surprised and annoyed.
They were cut off my a gun shot. The hero winced at the loud noise. Their eyes followed the sound to a new crack in the wall behind them, right where they had been standing. The hero turned back to the villain, who was still holding them a few centimetres off the ground.
“What was that?” the hero said.
“Oh, thank you so much for saving my life!” The villain said, rolling their eyes. “We don’t have time for this.”
They set the hero down. The hero wobbled before finding their balance, distracted by the loss of the villain’s heat. The villain had already started running.
“Hurry up!” The villain called behind them. “Whoever’s after you isn’t getting any slower.”
"Shit," Team Leader muttered as they realized the mistake they made. They had thought they had enough cover to move and grab Smallest Teammate. They had thought they had enough cover to stand up a little. They had thought there was enough covering fire from the team that they would be fine.
They were wrong.
The bullet hit them in their abdomen, forcing all the airs from their lungs. "Shit," they said again as their legs gave out from under them.
"Team Leader!" Smallest Teammate shouted from where they had crouched down as much as they could.
"'m fine," Team Leader said breathlessly as they leaned back against the wooden board they had originally taken cover behind. Black spots filled their vision. This...This was not good.
"Help them!" Smallest Teammate shouted to Teammate One. Teammate One was the closest to Team Leader, only a couple of feet. Teammate One would likely have to belly crawl to get to Team Leader.
"D-D-Don'tttttt......'m ffffffffine," Team Leader muttered. They pressed their hand to the wound in their belly, trying to staunch the flow of blood from the wound. Blood seeped through their hand and dripped through their fingers. "Sh-Sh-Sh-Shitttttttt."
Team Leader closed their eyes and focused on breathing and remaining upright. They could hear their team shouting. Could hear the continuing sound of gunfire, though there were fewer and fewer shots being returned from the other side. The team was winning.
"Hey, hey, Team Leader, can you open your eyes for me?" Teammate One's voice was suddenly so close.
Team Leader cracked open an eye to see Teammate One kneeling in front of them. They had put a hand to the wound in Team Leader's belly, pressing harder than Team Leader had been able to. Team Leader knew that should be painful, but it wasn't. Their head felt as though it were filled with cotton.
"'mfineteammateone," Team Leader slurred as they suddenly pitched forward.
"Team Leader!" Teammate One grabbed Team Leader's shoulders before Team Leader could smack their head on the floor. "Say something, Team Leader!"
"LLLLLLet'ssssssgooooooo," Team Leader said, trying to rise. They only succeeded in slumping further into Teammate One's arms.
"Team Leader, you just need to hold on a bit longer. We are getting you out of here. Just hold on." Teammate One's voice was so far away and yet so close
You and Miles were out on a date, and he was spoiling you.. like a lot.
But you’re not complaining though.
He’s gentle with you, which is unlike his apathetic and cold demeanor.
But you are his [name]. His world, his love. He would do anything for you if it ended up withyou safe and happy.
“Miles.. isn’t this a bit much? We’ve been out all day and you’re carrying so many bags.” You looked at him, slight confusion in your eyes.
He has bags all around his arms. He didn’t let you carry anything. He didn’t want you to, he heave you major princess treatment.
“nonsense, mí amor… it’s never too much when it comes to you.” His grip on your hand got tighter.
You had no clue where Miles got all this money from, it’s kind of concerning to you. But he’s not gonna tell you, so you just go with it.
“oh.. okay then.. how about.. uh.. the jewelry store?”
“Of course.”
He went the rest of the day spoiling you, and being affectionate.
”I love you, [name]. Mí amor… mí vida… mi bella querida.“ he kissed your cheek. Wrapping an arm around your waist.
.
Everything was great, it was all fine. Nothing bad could happen, right?
.
.
Your date was later over, he went home while you went to work.
That’s when everything went terribly wrong.
.
.
Meanwhile…
.
.
Miles was slouching on his couch, he was thinking about you, and how much he loved spending time with you… then, he saw the news channel. It was live.
The whole world stopped for him. There was a crumbling building… and it was falling to you.
That’s when he saw his dad too. He had ran to you, attempting to help, but it was too late. Miles watched it all from the TV.
.
He was crying. He hadn’t noticed. But he did when it all sunk in… you were dead. His darling, his world. Was dead.
.
All he could do now was beg for you to walk through the apartment door, coming to see him again with a bright smile on your face.
He was waiting for his dad to come home, with dinner in his hands from Miles’s favorite restaurant.
He would never witness either of those ever again.
.
As soon as he could, Miles and his uncle Aaron made a tribute to you and his dad with graffiti on the brick wall on the roof of the apartment complex.
.
.
His father was smiling in the portrait. In his police uniform…
JEFFERSON DAVIS: BELOVED HUSBAND, AND FATHER.
.
You were also smiling. But Miles’s had painted a halo around your head. You were his angel after all, but now you were truly an Angel.
summary of the video: the destruction scene used to be a vibrant marketplace for the sudanese (i could not get the right spelling of the name of the marketplace). destruction is due to fighting between saf & rsf where there were bombings, shelling during the battle which ended around a week before the filming of the video, yet snipers are still a threat around the area.
the reporters only managed to go through the area and shoot footage in an armored vehicle (said vehicle has been shot at which is seen by the gunshots on the windshield)
also, in this tiktok (by @bsonblast) we are being asked to check @skynews (also on Twitter, Insta, YouTube, and their own website) for more updates on sudan by the same journalist in the video above and to *please* interact with them, so that the sudanese and their plight may not be forgotten
(i will try and add subtitles/transcribe the video when i can, but for now please click the link and watch it on tiktok, as the video is already subbed. thank you🌸)
@koukaaa-descent something about banjax broke me and spoke to me. I had to paint something tragic (you know why) . I love this aminal and i hope it will be okay soon
When posts from my 2012-2015 ~not like the other girls antifeminist/anti-SJW~ phase get recommended to me on mobile and I have to delete them on sight like I’m covering up a crime
