Thr Israel jokes thing is so real because like I keep seeing people commenting "Benjamin Netanyahu get his ass" and stuff like that on stuff they don't like as a joke and it's like. That's weird. You understand that that's weird right? You get that that's weird? Why do you keep doing it??? Like the only one I've seen that's almost funny is saying stuff that's stupid or evil could only have been conceived or invented in Israel and even then its like. Hey. Maaaaybe not.
Like i saw someone call the dumb little dot cake thing "Spiritually Israeli" which like i get the cibe i get where you're coming from i understand but that's an odd thing to turn into a joke to make light of the actual atrocities that Israel does on the daily but also idk how true it is but two unsubstantiated sources that I cannot independently verify have stated that the people who own the original bakery for the thing are ACTUAL zionists so like. Less funny then.
Also even less related but I think dot cakes are kinda stupid and I'll die on this hill but you've also got them whining about how they have the dot cake name trademarked or something and that people should respect the brand they built even if they choose to make them at home so I encourage people to make them at home because that's just being a little entitled for something that's so stupidly simple to make.
They're trying to do the "edgy dark humor to cope" thing that people have been doing with Hitler and other horrible dictators and political figures for the past few decades.
But the difference is that Netanyahu is still alive and the genocide he's committing is still going, so it should be obvious that it's really not fucking funny to joke about it in that way. Like, best case scenario, it just lends credence to the idea that people hate Israel more than they actually care about Palestinians, and that's not that good of a priority because there are REAL victims who need HELP! It's not like he's the standard billionaire slowly choking the planet and making our taxes higher, he's literally killing human beings everyday!!!
