Alright theory about Bear

I think this information is right, I did a project on it in high school a long time ago, but correct me if I’m wrong.

It’s actually pretty difficult to overdose on prescription opioids because your body will reject it and you’ll just throw up. That’s why a lot of the time you have to wean yourself onto medication. This means that most people overdosing on prescription drugs are actually already addicted. Usually when someone overdoses (on prescription drugs whether they are obtained legally or illegally), it’s from repeated use where they have been taking more and more medication in order to get high off a drug that their body is rapidly trying to adjust to. Eventually, the dose will be so large that the bloodstream will fill with these opioids, leading to damage to the persons veins, heart, lungs, brain, and therefore everything else.

SO MY THEORY is that Bear’s grandmother never left him her house or her drugs, because nobody knows that she’s dead. BEAR HAS BEEN KEEPING UP THE RUSE THAT HIS GRANDMOTHER IS STILL ALIVE IN ORDER TO LIVE RENT FREE IN HER HOUSE AND FEED HIS ADDICTION WITH HER PRESCRIPTIONS. Nikki even makes a comment about how his new place is so much bigger than his last (but it’s important to note that she is possessed), meaning he probably recently moved in.

Idk it’s just a theory. Honestly, I think the creators might have just been unaware of these facts (or banked on the fact that audiences wouldn’t know) because I’m also like 99% sure a cat wouldn’t eat oxycodone because they’d be able to smell that it would poison them.

if you guys haven’t read Kevin’s Players’ Tribune article yet… you should. it’s raw and it’s jarring and it’s beautiful and it’s hilarious and it’s sad. Jimmy’s loss will forever be sad. but Kevin’s using his platform to make sure it’s not in vain.

Found out today a former colleague's son died. He was 22.

His dad and I worked together for 15 years. That's a long time in our line of work. There was a point where our entire team finally got laid off and we were the only ones left, keeping the lights on at a dying company.

I remember when he was born. He died this week, alone in his car, from an opioid overdose. Those details make something already tragic into something just unbearably sad.

My second cousin died on New Year's Eve. We weren't close, I've only met him a few times. That's because he spent his whole life in pain, in and out of prison and street gangs, a heavy drug user his entire life. He died living on the streets, the irony being he was finally clean. I don't know the details but imagine he also died alone. He was 52.

I use cannabis, it's legal and regulated here. But hard drugs are fucking awful. And addiction is powerful. It doesn't matter if you are affluent or poor, or if your family life is supportive or not.

The only thing I really fear is having to bury one of my children. My friend and my mom's cousin, from two very different walks of life, are both going through that, and 2025 is 9 days old.

I cried for an hour today.

she didn't take enough pills last night to end things, probably far from it (thankfully, from my perspective at least...), but since then she's been dealing with facial numbness, itchiness all over her body, sweating, nausea, and feeling dizzy and faint. she didn't get any sleep last night.

the relief* from the pain lasted a few hours, but the side effects might last an entire day or two.

maybe we can do something quiet today, like read, if she'd be able. we won't see each other in person until tuesday.
