It has come to our attention that some of our players have received anonymous messages about their character portrayals; be it recent, or in the past. As the Admins of this group, it is our responsibility to ensure that all characters are written in a way that adheres to our bios, and fulfill our expectations so as to tell the story that we have written. We’d like to reassure our members that if there is an issue with your portrayal, we will find a way to discuss it with you.
This RP, above all else, is a literate roleplay, designed so that talented writers can surround themselves with other talented writers, and learn from each other. Since VN opened almost two years ago, we have all improved immensely, including the admins. The threads we write together tell marvelous stories, but they are also tools, allowing us to get creative, to think our characters out of OOC situations, and to make friends or enemies they wouldn’t normally make. As an RP focused on engendering quality writing, we have had countless conversations containing constructive criticism, reflection, and tips for improvement. We trust our members to portray the characters they’ve been given, and thus far, there has been very little in the way of disappointment.
To the anons, we are grateful that you follow VN, but it is not your job to censor or feedback our writers. If you’d like to talk about portrayals, we’d be happy to have a conversation with you. Beyond that, all we can suggest is that if you disagree with a portrayal here at VN, find another group where that role is open and do it credit any way you see fit.
Thank you members, for your continued and awe-inspiring support of each other, and the amazing work that you do as writers every day. In case it wasn't already abundantly clear - we, on the Admin Team are proud of you.
