Kon: hey, Tim, do you know about this case?

Tim: oh, that's from when the Clench happened.

Bart: the Clench?

Tim: yeah. Epidemic that was caused by a weaponized virus back in my Robin days.

Cassie: I feel like I vaguely remember this. Didn't you almost get it?

Tim: oh, no, I did catch it. Nearly wiped me off for good- thankfully B managed to get a cure.

Bart: well, good thing you're cured!

Tim: kind of.

Kon: what does that mean, "kind of?"

Tim: so the cure didn't 'cure' it, only made it undetectable, but there was a chance it could come back, and the second time it was 100% chance of mortality, the second time; attacks your nervous system and causes critical nervous system breakdown and heart failure.

Tim: Gotham's medical staff noticed though, that immunocompromised people were less likely to have the second Clench over regular people. Something to do with the body being too hostile, I believe.

Tim: Anyway, when I lost my spleen, I became immunocompromised, and my chances of getting the Second Clench dipped down to 0.10%. but also I got like, two smaller spleens that are like, doing the work my original spleen was doing, so I'm not as immunocompromised as someone without a spleen would be, and overall it's kind of like going back to zero. Leslie says I'm kind of a medical miracle.

Tim: that's why my answer is "kind of."

The angi-a virus that isn’t necessarily dangerous and both mental and physical. At first, there is almost no symptoms, but slowly, a love eating raw meat begins to emerge. They begin to start avoiding anything but raw meat, and anything but meat makes them vomit or tastes horrible or like nothing. Blood begins to taste wonderful to them, and start replacing the role of water. The sufferer begins to be irritated by the smell of blood, and also an elevated sense of smell. Especially to blood. The irritation experienced is similar to hangriness, and if the sufferer hadnt eaten in a while, more hungry than anrgy. Soon, meat bought from the supermarket isnt enough, and they need it fresh or decently fresh, and looking at quality butchers markets sometimes slips minds very easily. They will hunt down and eat people, and usually leave the organs left behind, because the meat is their priority. Eventually, the hunger starts to be overwhelming, causing them to need to constantly kill to eat.

At this point, the virus has made their body somewhat ideal for hunting. Sufferers who have gotten to this point are 3 feet taller than they originally are, stronger, faster, and almost silent walkers, and have retractable claws. The virus causes skin irritation too, making sufferers be very itchy, and constantly scratch themself. ( not in a sh way. ) When the virus is most severe, and full recovery is not in the question anymore, they will have lost almost all of their original personality and be bloodlustful and violent, and constantly need blood and raw meat, and most likely, be part Angifolium-A. It’s unknown how the virus produces the mutating proteins that Bluerberries do, but it can.

After all this, the host starts rotting away while alive and one day drops dead, and the carcass is eaten by animals, and decaying hosts are said to try and get near barns or hunting sites. Herbivores, like cows and pigs, will still eat the carcass and it’s unknown why.

It’s not transmitted easily, and only through consumption of infected meat or physical contact with an infected. Meat can have the virus cooked out of it, but anything below well done could be dangerous. Being bitten can also spread it.

Gems can get this virus, but it progresses much slower because of how their bodies work, and some physical changes such as the growth don’t happen.

So I has an idea for an undertale infection AU.

So this was specifically inspired by @shadowy-suitcase-herring-neck 's infection AU, but you can imagine it with others.

(TW talk of disease, death, bites, and apocalypse stuff!)

So, Lust Sans. We all know that monsters in Underlust weren't always, well, Lustful. That's due to the fallen humans soultraits, of Lust, right?

While I'm not entirely sure if this is fanon/canon, but we know about the vaccine, yeah? The one thar made monsters lustful.

Well, hear me out. Since there's INFINITE AUs, I think it's pretty obvious that atleast SOME of the Sanses would be immune to the infection, atleast until the virus mutates itself enough to be powerful enough to infect, said Sanses.

I think it's like a tier list. The first variation could infect a small portion of Sanses, with a few being immune. But that few could be infected by the second tier, which couldn't infect third tier immunity, do you get what I'm saying?

I think people like Reaper sans, would be 4th tier immune, only a VERY strong strained could infect a literal God. People like Six-Bones would have 3rd tier immunity, so still pretty strong.

And, I think people like Lust would have that lowest immunity, 2nd tier, where they're safe from the first variation of it. The reason why, is because his soul has that Lust vaccine in it. And I think the vaccine has more crap in it than just pure Lust, I think it'd be like a wall to the first variation of the Virus..

Woah, did I just accidentally create an AU? Cool.

ANYGAYS—I've depicted what I think that'd be like, here's a sketch of Lust, with two bite marks. Now clearly, he's not infected, but I think he's fully aware that he won't be immune for long. Especially if it's Lust from Shadowy's infection AU, they confirmed they think a medic role would fit him. So I think he'd have some medical knowledge.

Thus, I think he'd wear a muzzle with a mask underneath. But the muzzle was created SPECIFICALLY so he couldn't take it off himself, it requires tedious help from another person.

He knows, that he's not gonna survive this if they don't make a cure, NOW. He doesn't know why he hasn't turned yet for sure, but the idea I just presented you is his main theory. But he knows that if any of the other underlust survivors get it, (I'm saying the only survivors are him, mettaton, and frisk) than he'd be at risk too.

...For now though, the muzzle is a precaution, keeps him from being able to bite anyone.
