There was one time during the previous school year that Melissa knew she was absolutely falling for you. You had already been accepted by the rest of the crew but Melissa dragged her feet because eventually all new teachers left. Enough people had left her in her life and she didn’t need to add another to the list. She had worried that being Ava’s best friend you would be brash like she was but you were shy and often made the dry humor jokes that had the whole break room come to life if they were lucky enough to catch the comment. Jeanine and Jacob had taken to you immediately bonding over books and dungeons and dragons which made her inwardly groan. She was surprised when you wore down the ever closed off Gregory asking question about his Goofballs and giving helpful hints when he was struggling with harsh weather or animals. When you listened to Mr. Johnson’s lecture on one of his janitorial facts Melissa almost rolled her eyes until she realized  you stole one of the tools from his tool belt to fix her vent hours before he would have even thought about it. Melissa had been complaining about it for days and she only noticed you did it when she watched you sneak off from her room a sticky note saying that she wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. It was when Barbara officially took you under her wing and you started doing crosswords her in the early morning that Melissa’s resolve started to waver.

Then one morning Melissa watched as Terry, a father of one of her previous students,  climbing the stairs to the main entrance shortly before the children came that her opinion of you shifted for good. 

“Fuck, it’s Terry. Where is my bat?” Melissa yelled to Barbara and everyone ran to intervene. 

Terry had been banned from school premises when he had been charged with CPS and criminal charges against his daughter. Melissa and Barbara stopped him on the steps her wooden bat clutched tightly in her hand.

“Get lost Terry. Yous know you ain’t supposed to be here,” Melissa snipped.

“I came to see my daughter. They ain’t letting me see her and I need to talk to her,” He tried to explain.

“Your rights got taken away. You don’t get to see her,” Barbara said.

“Listen you either let me see my daughter or I shoot you,” He said pulling a silver pistol from his back pocket. 

Barbara immediately screamed clutching her chest but to her credit she stayed right by Melissa’s side. Melisa only faltered for a moment but she knew that she had to stand her ground. She had been trained to do this after all. With all the school shootings it had become a very unfortunate part of summer teacher training. Her mind was running through the list of possibilities when Terry’s scream joined Barbara’s.

A knife had launched through the air cutting his hand making him drop the gun. Within seconds you were in front of him second knife across his throat. While he was distracted you kicked the gun to the side and Melissa scrambled to grab it before he noticed.

“You heard her Terry. You aren’t allowed here,” You said putting just enough pressure to make him sweat, “Wouldn’t want your parole officer to hear that you were threatening teachers on school grounds with a stolen gun would we?”

“How you know it is stolen?” He said looking around frantically till he noticed it dangling in Melissa’s hand.

“Good guess,” You smiled.

“Please don’t tell my parole officer. He gets word of this I am back in for ten more years.”

“Oh I am gonna tell him,” You said evenly, “But since you want to be nice I will give you a running start.”

Terry didn’t need another warning as he took off down the stairs and down the street. Melissa turned on you saying sarcastically, “You know they say you shouldn’t bring a knife to a gun fight right?”

You rolled your eyes as you collected your dropped knife, “And bringing a bat is any better?”

“No,” Melissa said honestly, “Thank you for being there Y/N.”

You nodded before lifting up your skirt just enough to reveal the knife holster that you wore around your thigh. Melissa watched her pulse quickening at the reveal of your tan skin but it is what came next that made her know she had to get to know you. As you slid the knives back in your hands shook. Just the slightest bit but it was there.

That is when Melissa knew that you had stuck your life on the line even when your courage had wanted to falter and you had wanted to turn the other direction. You stood up for a child she loved and cared for. Not to mention you saved her best friend and herself as they stared down the barrel of a gun. People you barely knew and you had decided that they were worthy of your protection. You clearly had a past that had brought you here and Melissa was determined to learn every piece of it.

She placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, “Here let me walk you back inside and we can make the calls together.”

You smiled up at her gratefully and let her lead you inside. Little did you know in that moment Melisssa was determined to figure out how to make you hers.

3 Will Be Free (dir. Jojo Tichakorn Phukhaotong ) Genre: Action, Thriller, Romance Starring:  Joss Way-ar Sangngern, Tay Tawan Vihokratana,   Mild Lapassalan Jiravechsoontornkul Language: Thai

Neo is a stripper who is running away from the loan shark Thana and his gang, after having an affair with Thana’s wife Vanika. He ends up bumping into two people who will change his life: Shin, a gay boy, the son of Thana, and Miw, who is running away from her past. Accidentally, they end up killing one of the gang members who was chasing Neo, which makes them enemies of the gang. Now all three need to find a solution to escape from this situation together, while at the same time managing the physical and sentimental attraction that arises between them.

I absolutely loved this. Also the fact that I didnt even have to manipulate 3/4 of the scenes here, shows how colourful this series is. And I loved how P’Jo pushed the boundaries of convention and addressed some hard topics in a very chaotic and fun manner. Loved the pace of the show, and it was constantly keeping me on my toes. Also GMMTV needs to give more females guns!! Female characters with guns get shit done okay. It is a proven fact.
