Why does no one ever talk about how much Michonne has lost? Whenever discussions of which twd character has suffered/lost the most, I always hear Maggie, Carol, Daryl, etc (which I agree and are valid) but no one ever says Michonne.

She LOST HER SON early on due to a safe zone being overrun and her bf and friend where high, which she later on kept them as walkers (which I always saw as her punishing them for failing to protect her son/maybe trying to keep some sort of remembrance of her time before) LOST ANDREA who was her only friend (or gf? 🤨) BUT WAS ALSO KIND OF BETRAYED BY HER? Lost her home multiple times, LOST CARL who she loved like a son AND LOST RICK (even tho he didn't die, he was missing for years). She raised RJ and Judith without their dad and missed out on their life by finding Rick.

Idk, Michonne is crazy strong for surviving all that and she deserves more recognition, she survived the Governor who was ACTIVELY OUT FOR HER, continued to stick to her morals and built a life for her family even after losing it multiple times.

imagine dissing showrunner Angela Kang, a female writer of color in a genre totally dominated by men, who breathed new life into a dying franchise and brought #caryl back from the ashes, and forgetting Scott Gimple exists!! the same white dude responsible for the worst seasons of the show ever, who kept dangling that carrot, leaving crumbs to keep us salivating, and always stopped short of ever actually delivering anything. 

i may dislike and disagree with some directions AK choose to take, but i’ll never ever forget those Gimple seasons i’d rather poke my eyes out than watch that shitshow.

Shannon you absolute angel. No one ever plays these games with me and I truly wasn’t expecting this! lol But okay, here goes!!

My Favorite Female Character is ofc Beth Greene. I’m also currently fond of Connie and I also adored Denise and Tara too. I go up and down with Mags—but Beth is on the pedestal, naturally.

My Favorite Male Character is/was Hershel Greene. I just loved him so much and I feel a profound sadness that we haven’t had a character even remotely similar to him since his demise—even though his death was an acceptable and meaningful one that actually pushed the narrative forward—and girl, don’t let me get up on my soapbox! I was thrilled Scott Wilson was able to film Rick’s swan song before his passing. It was SO GOOD to see him again... even if just for a minute. Sorry Daryl, you know I still love ya!

My Favorite Season in its entirety is season 2. I also very obviously loved specific episodes of the back half of season 4, but as far as really diving in and getting to know these characters, I feel like season 2 was it for me.

My Favorite Episode is actually a tie between Still and Beside a Dying Fire.

My Favorite Cast Member currently? This one is actually kinda hard. Like, obv I love Normy, but I also love Cooper Anderson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is daddy af, okay? Oof, he takes me back to my supernatural days! 😂😂

My Favorite Ship is Bethyl. Richonne also gets an honorable mention, and I was digging whatever it was they were teasing with Rosita and Siddiq before they MURDERED him. 😡 And I know I always gross so many of my fellow bethylers out, but I also really enjoy the sibling dynamic of Carol x Daryl. Like, no matter how you choose to view their relationship, they are obv very important to one another and I’ve always felt that strong friendship between Norman and Melissa has always bled into their characters in such a good way.

A Character I’d Die Defending is Jerry! He’s so pure. Tbh, we need more characters like him on this misery porn show.

A Character I Just Can’t Sympathize With (lately ONLY) is Carol. I just feel like they’re only doing a repeat of season 4 with her — which they again repeated in season 6 and 7– whereas Carols trauma makes her reckless and she continues to put the others in danger until she decides she just needs to go off alone so she stops hurting people... frankly, I’m tired. It’s 2020– if you wanna shock me, do something different. Give me a happy finale for once. Let Carol have some character development. Like, don’t even get me started on this claustrophobic bullshit from last night... and the fact that it was actually MMB’s idea is so cringe—ugh—I’ve said too much.

A Character I Grew To Love is def Carl. Omg that child was so obnoxious in the earlier seasons, but by the team season 3 rolled around, Chandler stole my whole ass heart. I was so gutted when they MURDERED him. 😡 Only to turn around and MURDER the character he gave his life for ... you know, just like they did with Beth/Noah. 🤬🤬 I’ve said too much again.

My Anti OTP is whatever fresh hell they put on my screen last night and traumatized me with. Seriously, WTF Angela and whoever the hell else was responsible for that????

And yup, I def explained why on all accounts. lol

But like, are there other twd fans that reeeeally don't like R!ck? I feel like I'm the only one. Also, I still REALLY need a scene where Daryl finally gets in Rick's face about banishing Carol from the prison lol I don't hold grudges in real life, but I can hold a mean grudge against a fictional character 😂 But no in all seriousness, I really want to see R!ck attempting to either thank Carol for coming to fight OR try to convince/guilt her into staying in Alexandria to prepare for war, and Daryl coming to her aid and accusing R!ck of never caring about Carol and her mental well being or something like that. Or saying that he has no reason to thank her and acting like she and R!ck are friends. Please don't bother coming at me with hate about how "I shouldn't dislike R!ck" because it's a waste of time lol

HOT TAKE! You can't compare Glenn and Carl's deaths because they are wildly different, and Maggie's and Rick's way of grieving is different because of it.

NOW THIS IS MY OPINION. Don't start flaming me, but I started thinking about it because of the controversy of Daryl saying to Rick, 'You just gotta let [Carl] go.' and how people say that no one would say that to Maggie. BOTH GLENN AND CARL'S DEATHS WERE SAD, I cried so hard during Carl's deaths, and Glenn's was so devastating, but YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

Carl was bit, a freak accident (because he should've lived 😑), but he had time to say goodbye to his parents and sister, to write letters explaining what he wanted, and to accept his own demise. He died surrounded by those who loved him, feeling cared for until he pulled the trigger. And he died saving someone.

Glenn (and Abraham too) died violently, with a bat to the head, not knowing if their friends, partners, UNBORN CHILD in Glenn's case, were going to be okay. They didn't get to say goodbye, they didn't get any final words (ig Abraham did but that's not the point) and it wasn't in a caring, loving environment; it was with people with guns surrounding them, a mad man with a bat laughing and everyone crying.

Rick get's closure knowing that 1. the walker that bit Carl is dead, 2. He can strive to fulfill Carl's wishes, 3. That Carl died doing what he thought was right, and 4. That Carl would be happy knowing that Rick is trying to move on and progress, making Judith, Michonne and the rest of their family happy.

Maggie has to live with her husband/father of her child's murderer still being alive/now happy, consumed by trauma and rage that isn't properly managed. She will always remember her husband's bloody murder that happened right in front of her, as she tries to raise their son alone.

Now, Daryl never should've said that to Rick in the first place. Rick is allowed to grieve Carl and try to strive to what he wants for the future. But comparing Maggie and Rick (and Glenn and Carl) is stupid in this regard. Their emotions were both valid, but Maggie can't move on in the same way Rick could.

I will always, ALWAYS, be mad that they killed off Noah LIKE TWO EPISODES AFTER BETH AND TYREESE DIED. Absolute fumble and will never get over it.

First of all, you have Beth and Tyreese die an episode apart (Which will be a whole seperate rant), but THEY DIED FOR NOAH. Beth stabs Dawn to try and get Noah back so they can all leave the hospital together (and gets a bullet to the skull) and Tyreese get's bit by Noah's brother or smth because they went to go see if Noah's family was alive. I DO NOT BLAME NOAH BTW but two important characters died for/due to him, and he dies not even a season later.

imo it's a complete waste for all three deaths, they all had potential and for Noah to die because of THAT BUM NICOLAS will never not piss me off, which is also why s5 is meh IMO

HAVING BETH AND TYREESE'S DEATH BE AN EPISODE APART WAS STUPID AS HELL, LET'S TALK.

First off, both shouldn't of gone out like that 😞 Beth was only just reaching the peak of her character, she was learning how to fight and stand up for herself ONLY TO BE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT. AND TYREESE OMG you're telling me that THE TANK HIMSELF, who took on Daryl and Rick, WHO ESCAPED A HORDE WITH ZERO INJURIES, DIED BECAUSE HE WAS SPACING OUT?? Stupid way to kill him off, although him hallunicating was super interesting STILL SHOULDN'T OF DIED.

Ik beth and tyreese's death was important for Maggie, Daryl's and Sasha's character growth, but instead, we could've focused on Hershel, or Bob's death?? They died and it was basically never brought up again after Alexandria 🤦‍♂️

But ik they wanted a mid season death, so IMO I would've killed Beth as an symbol of lost hope/youth/faith, KEPT TYREESE ALIVE and killed him off later, like during the savior war or negan's reign over alexandria for motivation for sasha and the rest of the group. I LOVED HIM, BUT BETH'S DEATH OVERSHADOWED HIS COMPLETELY, I WAS STILL GRIEVING MY GIRL WHEN TYREESE GOT BIT 💀

Anyways, complete fumble, only wanted shock factor and didn't really shock me just made me shake my head in disappointment at lost potential and excessive waste
