With Su-Magna behind them, Ahkmou and Gavla experience a strange respite from the chaos of the past weeks. But despite getting free of the city of plasma, it's not yet ready to let them go.

Not quite an AO3 ficauthor curse, but this chapter certainly had some roadblocks thrown up in the way of its development. Biggest is definitely the nonstop fatigue that's set into me for a while now. I'm working on getting it taken care of, though, so hopefully that won't be as much of an issue for Chapter 30. Anyways, we finally get a chapter entirely outside of Su-Magna. Been a while since that happened, hasn't it?

With the revelation of a new kra-matoran, the Mahri begin seeking out answers. But the arrival of a new toa changes the situation drastically.

Phew, sorry for the wai- huh, hold on, what do you mean it hasn't even been a month since the last chapter? I did all this in four weeks??? Wow. Amazing what can be done when the writer's block effs off.

Anyway, the second half of this chapter did not go at all as planned. A certain someone who wasn't supposed to show up for a bit longer in the story got tired of waiting, I guess, and threw everything I had planned for the second half and for the next chapter out of the window.

Upon finally reaching their new home, the kra-matoran quickly get to work. The toa set to their own tasks as well, moving fast to make use of what little time they have left before this moment of peace comes to an end. Both Ahkmou and Gavla find the calm disquieting, however, and being free of the storm that has been their life recently means now the storms in their minds will make themselves known.

Light and shadow clash as Ahkmou and Gavla are finally forced to face the Toa Mahri. With both numbers and experience against them, though, Ahkmou makes the only gamble he can think of to even the odds.

Here we go, folks! After more than 116K words, the battle I've been building up to is finally here. But don't worry, the story isn't over yet; there's so much more still to go after this battle, however it is that it ends. This fight is a key moment of the fic, but certainly not the only one. Also, holy singing pit squid! This chapter came in at over 9000 words long! Freaking crazy. I truly hope you all enjoy this chapter!

Ahkmou and Gavla arrive in Su-Magna and find themselves unprepared for its culture.

This an all-Ahkmou and Gavla chapter, first one ever since the Mahri made their debut. It still wound up at nearly 7000 words long! I actually had to cut it down a bit because I realized a conversation was redundant. I don't know why, but plasma is probably tied for my favorite Bionicle element alongside Plantlife/ Green/ Flora.
