“About three things I was absolutely positive: First, Steve was a babe. Second, there was a part of him—and I didn't know how potent that part might be—that thirsted for my dick. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”
Bells Swan, Twilight Billy Hargrove, Stranger Things
TW-Negative Mental Health/Trauma/Death
Alice Cullen fans please give me all your thoughts:
I’m sure we all know Alice’s backstory, but if not here’s a very brief summary: She was born in Missisippi in 1901, and she has been having premonitions/visions her whole life. She saw one of her mother being murdered by a stranger, but said nothing of it. Her mother was killed sometime later. After her mother’s death, her father remarries, and then Alice sees a vision where her mother’s killer and her father are planning to kill her. They send her to a mental asylum because they think she’s insane/a witch/etc. She is there for however many years, and she is being tracked by James. A certain (vampire, but not Carlisle) doctor takes a liking to her, and then finds out about James and changes Alice herself before James can get to her. Alice escapes the mental hospital, meets Jasper in a diner in 1948, and then they join the Cullens Clan in 1950.
So do we think Alice would still have trauma/mental health issues as a vampire? (And by that I mean ones that she would have inherited from being at the mental asylum and all the things they did to her like electroshock therapy etc). Do we think she still struggles with thoughts about her past or doubts about her visions? How did she feel when she saw James coming up to the field to attack Bella in Twilight? Did she even remember it was James who was tracking her before, or does she not know? It says that her very first thoughts/visions when she wakes up as a vampire are of her and Jasper being a couple. She barely even remembers her name, and she forgot the rest of her human life. But would the feelings behind her trauma/mental health still be there? Is Jasper able to sense those feelings? Can Edward read her mind and see her poor mental health/trauma surrounding certain situations, or no bevause Alice “doesn’t remember” them anymore. But I feel like her remembering the actions and her remembering the feelings would be different?
Also how long do we think she was at the asylum? I always thought it was a couple of years, but I’m not sure. The date on her tombstone was the date of her “death” but we don’t know much more about her time spent in the asylum, we just know that in 1948 she met Jasper. We have no knowledge (that I know of at least) of what happened in between her escaping the asylum as a vampire and her meeting Jasper, so we also don’t know the date she escaped the asylum and therefore don’t know how long she was admitted there.
The twilight fandom resurfacing and honestly thriving after the new book was announced is the energy I need in life.
Midnight Sun is Coming out today 😍 after years without the Twilight Saga pumping in my blood, it's time, I'm so excited ♥️
I know I'll do my very best not picturing Robert Pattinson 😉
“So, you enjoying the rain?”
“You’re asking me about the weather?”
Bella, talking about the weather is a Midwestern pastime. It is a social skill passed from parent to child through the generations for whenever there is an unhealthy lapse in silence. Sometimes when I call my own mother, the first thing she asks me is “what’s the weather like there?” when I live only an hour away.
[before anyone tries to say their in the Pasific Northwest, Edward is from Chicago, he has prime weather bitching rights Illinois is crazy]
What are your Embry Headcannons?
I don’t have many headcanons for Embry, anon, but I like to think of him as the chill one in the group. I have this image of him looking into the camera and shaking his head The Office-style whenever Jacob and Paul wolf-out over the tiniest shit.
He and Quil are INSEPARABLE: errands out of town? Quil is there in his front seat, errands in general? Quil is still there. Can’t find Embry? Call Quil (and vice-versa). Date night? Better make that a double-date!
Embry and Quil are also neighbors, and they’re always over for dinner at each other’s house - depends on whose home they’re hanging out in. Their families have taken to putting an extra plate on the table in case one of them decides to pop by.
Embry is also the wise one - the guys go to him for advice, and Embry never makes fun of them for it because he genuinely wants to help them. Even Alpha-man Sam seeks him out when he’s in need of counsel.
Embry would have a seat on the Tribal Council once he’s old enough!
I’m in the mood to re-read The Twilight Saga for the nth time, but on the other hand, I really don’t want to read a thousand worded declamation of Edward’s tawny-golden-topaz-butterscotch-honey colored eyes...
