This is one of the best ways I've heard the value of voting being explained. A lot of people think voting is boring or unimportant, yet it really does affect every single aspect of our lives.
All your local laws and stuff are why local elections are important, and then everything else is what more people pay attention to. However, it's not always the president that is the most important though.
We've had people in office, like Mitch McConnell, that blocked a LOT of Obama appointees and left those positions open for Trump to appoint tons of very young, very MAGA judges across the country, who will be in those positions, for decades.
Just showing up to cast a vote is important--even if you think "both sides are the same." Because they really aren't. Corporate Democrats are awful, but I still don't think they would have made all those cuts to SNAP and Medicaid like the Republicans did. And I highly doubt that we'd be in war with Iran if America had elected Harris rather than the rotting orange currently trying to become "king" of America!
