You can vote based on your opinion of the skill itself- Smithing is useful to just about every playstyle, while Two-Handed is good to make a build around- or on your opinion of the skill tree perks- Smithing is very simple, you can craft/improve more, while Two-Handed has things like increased damage and ignoring opponents' armor rating.
Bloodied and Broken is my Dragon Age series following Inquisitor Ixchel and her battle to find hope for herself, and hope for Thedas. She became Herald at 16 in her first life. The main entry is Dead Pasts, Dread Futures, which begins with Ixchel’s suicide in her twenties.
She gets better. There will be a happy ending.

Lead Her Through the Darkness. Oneshot. Complete.This is the story of how Ixchel found her name. BECandCall aka DuchessofSwoll wrote this gift during the Dragon Age Fanfiction discord server’s OC swap month.
Two-Handed: Incomplete. The story of Ixchel’s first life, as a teenage Inquisitor. Ixchel comes to the Conclave as an effort to win favor from Clan Lavellan. She does not have vallaslin, or any experience as a warrior--or any idea of how precious friends and family could be. This is not a Solavellan story.
Ruined Empires and Dust: Drabbles. Ch 1: Ixchel confronts Solas in the Fade after she realizes, after the Temple of Mythal, that Solas is in fact an ancient elf...and specifically that he is Fen’Harel. Ch 2: Ixchel confronts Solas in the Fade after Trespassser, desperate to understand why he left her, why he refuses her help, and why he insists on making her fight him. Ch 3: Ixchel realizes why she never sees Solas on the battlefield. Ch 4: Ixchel is resurrected, and Solas meddles.
The Vallaslin: Oneshot. Complete. Ixchel is finally offered the vallaslin of Dirthamen after proving to Keeper Hawen how dedicated she is to preserving Elven history. Solas cannot in good conscience let her take them. Not without a warning. (Follow-up post here.)
The Hope of Fen’Harel: Oneshot. Complete. Ixchel’s Trespasser eluvian scene with Solas.
Dead Pasts and Dread Futures. 170 chapters, 580k. Complete. Ixchel is in her mid-twenties when she ends her life, tired of being the Hope of Thedas and the Hope of Fen’Harel, and tired of being alone. As the world ends, she gets resurrected and sent back in time. She is very angry, and very depressed about it. Ixchel struggles. She finds hope
