Aquarion’s Absolutely Foolproof Dating Advice
(Part of an ongoing campaign to stop losing things I liked writing getting lost in the gloopy soup of Facebook comments, and instead lose them in the viscous gumbo of Tumblr)
1) Find someone who you like the idea of dating. A) Work out if they're the right orientation/poly/not poly/compatible with being thought of as the gender-spectrum position you think they are/not five weasels in an overcoat/not any number of any mustelids in any garmentry/currently looking (These can be assembled by a combination of following on Facebook/Instagram/twitter/tumblr/ello, some light stalking, finding a reliable mindreader, reading their diary, Phrenology and - if all else fails - talking to them) i) Once target is acquired, seriously consider the prospect of declaring your interest and then continue to dwell on all the possible ways it could possibly go wrong until one of the requirements in (A) is no longer true (This may take decades), then congratulate yourself on avoiding heartbreak. Γ) Celebrate with preferred alternatives to chocolate and alcohol, or those if you like them.
(My current most effective method is to be hit on the head with some kind of rock-metaphor by the target while at stage (i). While successful, I cannot recommend it for efficiency)

This shipping KILLED my heart.
|see the creeper lady in the background? THAT'S ME BRUH.
How scizzy knows I love him: It’s ALL HAPPENING RIGHT NOW and I won’t get to watch it for probably a month because I am waiting for him.
Also on a completely unrelated note I was at a party last night and these two guys were talking about how they're desperate to marry but they're never gonna find love and they're gonna die alone. Like, they were drunk, of course, and therefore basically having complete emotional breakdowns over this topic. And it was kinda funny because, hey, look ladies, guys freak out about it too.
But it's also interesting to me, personally, because finding The One isn't my goal in life and I felt really disconnected from their plight. So many people flailing about searching for someone to complete them, to Fill The Almighty Scary Void in their lives. Or maybe they just want to cuddle with somebody. Or somewhere in between.
Either way, people are struggling in the world of romance and it's funny to watch in a demented sort of way. Like when the dog runs after a toy and ends up smacking straight into the living room wall. You want to comfort it but you're also really tempted to laugh. You end up doing a bit of both.
Today we learned that Evan and I need more than 4 hours of talking and goofing off time after not seeing each other for a while. Otherwise we end up staying up until 1 AM when we have to be up at 6 and Evan laughs so hard he snorts. Basically, we are two teenage girls having a sleep over without parental supervision right now.
