"They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but if I can’t see yours, how can I know if it’s true?"
The story of a Yuu who has seen too much, but still persists.
I've been part of this fandom for a long time, but I never had the courage to post or publish anything, but recently my mind didn't let me sleep peacefully with this idea, it was a little confusing at first, but I think I managed to get it across. I wanted!
Enjoy the first chapter =)
1: A soul of citrine guides me
"It's cold," was Yuu's first thought as he opened his eyes to nothingness, "am I dreaming?" was the next as they noticed the sensation, or rather the lack of it, nothingness, everything was completely still and silent, even his emotions seemed to have frozen in this strange place.
"O you, guided by the dark mirror" resounds a deep voice, breaking the silent calm of this void and frightening Yuu "follow your heart's desire and take the hand of the one reflected in the mirror"
Before they can think, his body moves and grasps said hand, the void is now full, a cacophony of chaos engulfs everything, but the most striking thing is how the hand changes, one second it has scars and is cold, the next it has claws and is bigger, then smaller, hot, calloused, soft, rough, wet, it changes faster and faster until it all blends into something... something they can't put into words
"Flames that incinerate even the stars" continues the voice as the hand pulls him away from the scorching heat "ice that imprisons even time"
Familiar icy waves pass through them as sharp as ever, the hand continues to pull them through the confusion and a dull pain spreads through his body, but it is easily ignored.
"The great tree that swallows even the heavens, do not fear the power of darkness" An intense wave of energy hits them from all sides, bewildering them, the energy is massive, as if connecting that place to something much bigger, much more powerful "now-"
"Demonstrate your powers" interrupts a new voice, this one softer and lower than the previous one, while their surroundings are taken over by roaring screams and explosions, making it harder to hear the voice "For me. For them. For you. We're all running out of time"
The dull pain now changed to something stabbing, a pain they had only felt once before, an agony they prayed never to feel again.
"No matter what happens, never let go of that hand," whispers the voice at last, so low that they barely hears it as everything around them falls silent and the hand finally releases them and Yuu slips back into unconsciousness.
Waking up again is calmer... This was a strange experience, his dreams are usually lucid, but the amount of detail and sensations in this is... different, but painfully familiar, they couldn't remember where exactly, but it's very likely that this dream already have happened before and for some reason they can't remember, it wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened.
Hm, maybe it was a nightmare? It would make sense... That pain... Yes, most likely it was a nightmare, they tend to forget them.
A jolt brings them out of their daydreams and they realize how tight everything was, where the hell had they got to? In a broom cupboard?
"Hnghhh, this lid is so hard. Maybe it'll break if I hit it against the wall?" Huh? Who- another bump rattles them, knocking them out of focus as their heads hit their surroundings with a shudder "Not good, huh. But I'm not throwing in the towel just yet!"
Whoever is shaking him, please stop! His head hurts! They whimper, trying unsuccessfully to shrink away.
"Fnyaaah!" the thing Yuu is trapped in starts to heat up until he falls forward clutching the nearest thing and lets out a startled scream as a familiar pain lodges in his chest and the world spins around him, his nails digging into Whatever they's holding
"fhna~!" the little thing in his arms hisses in pain as they hit the ground causing his brain to short circuit, I grabbed a baby!? Yuu thinks, sitting up quickly as they repositions the puppy in his arms, Puppy, hurt, protect, puppy, protect, protect, protect- the little one whimpers as the movement sets off more alarms in the head of the older man who feels the little one's blood on his hands and sounds come uncontrollably from his throat Hurt, hurt, protect, heal, protect, protect baby, take to t-
In the midst of her panic, Yuu mutters incantations in a broken voice, ordering the little ball of fur to calm down.
Safe, protected, protector, take care of, puppy, safe.
They continues to murmur as she cradles the now totally relaxed puppy against her chest and curls up to protect the baby and calm its instincts that scream danger.
Yuu doesn't know how long he stayed there in that position, but it was long enough that when they finally came out of their stupor, their knees were locked and the baby was sleeping peacefully in their arms, much to their Big relief.
More relaxed with the child's condition, they notice that his clothes are different... The fabric is familiar, they have some clothes with the fabric, but their shape and the embroidery are not something they can remember having worn, but mainly, The clothing does not have cape, which is strange in itself, all and I mean ALL his clothes has capes... From the pain in his spine they also deduces that the clothes are not at all adapted to his physical type, even his Heels are too low for his comfort.
"Hey kid, are you okay?" A deep, old voice asks from behind them, who are surprised not to notice... That there was no one behind him? "On the wall, kid!"
"Huh!?" They exclaimed in surprise as they realized that it was actually a painting that was talking with them (?) At least they thought it was a painting, It had been a long time since they had seen this kind of magic, they genuinely thought been extinguished (like so many, many others...) "Oh, yeah... Yeah, I think I'm okay"
They murmured, remembering the question the painting had asked.
"Are you sure? You didn't look well a few minutes ago" points out the painting to Yuu's embarrassment, right, his... Instincts? Had taken control in front of the mr. painting, how wonderful!
"I have sir," they assure him, standing up carefully with the puppy in their arms, "but could you tell me where exactly I am?"
"Hmm? Oh, you must still be confused by the Trip from the gates" that sounded right... but wrong at the same time, they ever were always a bit confused and slow when they woke up "you're at Night Raven College, a prestigious academy for mages in training young man, does that sound familiar?"
"Hm... Not really, sir." The academies had disappeared a long time ago, it would be a miracle if you could find even the ruin of a school, everything had disappeared since that day.
"You must be more confused than I thought, but I think you should look for Headmaster Dire Crowley, he must be after you anyway, since you ran away from the entrance ceremony," indicated the cadre lord, his voice still containing a spark of surprise.
"Right, thank you, Mr. Picture," says the young man with a slight bow, already heading off down the corridor, leaving a very surprised Picture in his wake.
"That... was certainly unexpected," mutters the painting behind them, slightly confusing them as he walks down the stairs.
The painting should be confused per his appearance, Yuu assumes, it's not every day you see... Something like they, especially if they - accidentally to make it clear!- ran away from the entrance ceremony? This is already giving him a headache, the schools no longer exist, and even if by some miracle there was still one, they didn't sign up for it!
Immersed in their thoughts, they are startled by the new presence in the corridor.
"Oh! There you are! What were you thinking coming out of the portal like that? How impatient can you be?" He speaks loftily of who they assume to be the approaching director.
"Hm sorry?" They replied, half wondering what they were supposed to do in this situation. "Are you Dire Crowley?"
"Yes, myself! And you young it-!" He stops in front of me with a mixture of emotions of which few of which I can identify, but incredulity seems to be the strongest and most distinguishable.
"Sir?" Yuu asks, snapping him out of his stupor.
"Ahem! Right, right," mutters the older man, regaining his composure "You are late! Let's go! The entrance ceremony it must already be over!"
Crowley quickly steps forward and Yuu struggles a little to keep up, but he can feel the weight of the principal's gaze on him and feels his skin crawl and his heart race, they clamp their teeth together, focus! The director is not a threat! It's all right! repeats the youngest mentally to himself as he forces himself to relax while the principal guides him through the school, they have many questions, but this doesn't seem like the right time to discuss them, not with how agitated and stressed they feel the that is director.
"Sir, my mind is still confused, what is the entrance ceremony like?" asks the younger man, cautious but also curious, at least that's what they need to know, they don't want to accidentally join some kind of cult or sect.
"hmm, yes, the portal trip must have confused you" agrees the director "I'll explain it to you as we go, because I'm immensely kind!"
Okay, that slapped Yuu in the face, the change of personality and emotions from one second to the next was too fast, almost as if it was another personality or a character interpretation, it just didn't seem natural.
"The ceremony takes place as follows, first, you will stand in front of the dark mirror and say your name, right away, He it will see the shape of your soul and magic, thus observing which dormitory you fit into" wow, that's a lot of magic, seriously, what is this place!? "and you It will be officially one of our newest aspiring mage"
The director stops in front of a room where the little one can feel hundreds of presences, some excited, others curious, even some irritated... Yes, one stood out in this regard, this level of stress cannot be healthy.
"Oh, this will definitely be memorable!" the man exclaimed, drawing the attention of the Younger "I'm curious to know which dorm you'll be assigned to, it's not every year that a student comes along who is able to leave the gates on their own! That piqued everyone's curiosity, so to speak."
Huh? No no no thanks, they didn't sign up for this! Thinks the mortified young as Dire scandalously opens the doors, oh, no, please someone end his miserable existence!
"Gentlemen! I, in my splendor, was kind enough to find and bring back our new lost student, and thanks to that the student body is complete!" he boasts as he walks around the room with Yuu behind him, many eyes focused on them but they force themselves to maintain a calm and collected facade.
The emotions are much stronger now, and several whispers can be heard around the room, but that was to be expected, what really catches your attention are the people at the back of the room, their presence is strong and they emanate a lot of magic, some Points in the crowd also stand out, but they are too scattered to compare with the group I decided to focus on.
"You're finally back, principal! We've been trying to figure out what to do now that the ceremony is over." Says one of the figures in front, he's as radiant as a miniature sun, filling the room with a delicious warmth. "You were so late, I thought you'd had a tummy ache or something."
"Is that our guy? The one who went out alone? Great, no doubt," he comments sarcastically, hm, his presence is as heavy as a blanket in the cold, but something about him seems unreliable, as if I can't shake off a weight much heavier than it should be, quickly going from pleasant to unbearable in an instant.
"I've never heard of such nonsense, how is it possible? Through force, or maybe magic?" Another murmured, indignation and confusion emanating in waves from him, but his voice was so beautiful and powerful that I barely noticed.
"So maybe they wield considerable power, if so, I'd be honored to have you in our dormitory." Another one with a soft voice, but, no, never, sell me on Sabaody, but there's no way I want to be in the same place as this guy again, malice and greed seem to have merged and formed this guy, no way, he smells like a loan shark to me... Or a slave master (he may well be one as far as they're concerned - they try not to think about it too much).
"Has this whole school been reading a lot of LNs with OP AF protagonists or what!?" A robotic voice is next, making Yuu jump for not having noticed the floating box before.
"We're already three minutes past the scheduled time limit." That was the angry one! Man, he needs to learn to relax, there's so much anger and stress coming from them that it's harder to breathe around them. "We must resolve your admission as quickly as possible, according to the rules.”
He announces in a firm tone, silencing all the buzz and leaving a tense air in his place. Yuu decides to end his observation here, this boy's energy is so heavy that it hurts.
"Now, now, everyone is waiting! Do us the honors and go in front of the dark mirror!" declares Crowley, guiding him in front of a large floating form, taking the little child from his arms, almost making Yuu recoil and almost attack when he senses the little thing's growing discomfort "I'll hold him it for you during your selection, because I'm very gentle!"
Struggling not to grab the baby, I start to move forward, but almost turn back when I hear it waking up. Safe, protected, protective, caring- Biting my tongue, I take the last few steps to stand in front of the dark mirror.
"Say your name" demands a male voice steeped in magic.
"... D. Yuu," I reply in a nasally voice after a prolonged silence.
"D. Yuu" repeats the mirror and a wave of ancient magic manifests in the smaller man, something analytical, but which plays with his magic and embraces his soul in a way that takes his breath away and tickles his mind, sweeping away all worries for later "your sou-"
"FNYAAAH!" The mirror is interrupted by a scream from his cub followed by waves of scorching heat and before they can even think, his body goes into motion grabbing his cub before anyone can react or the flames approach the others.
Your baby squirms in your grasp, but with a simple hum he is sent back to the realm of dreams, while thr slightest readjustment of your baby they notices a growing panic in the people around him. Oh, them little one spits fire, they didn't remember that, but that's nothing a quick trick can't solve.
"You! Aren't you ashamed of the trouble you cause!" Shouts the angry one with dark waves emanating from him as he comes towards me "not only were you late for the ceremony, you also set fire to our mirror chamber!"
"But above all that! The crime of violating one of the Queen of Hearts' rules! Don't tell me you're not familiar with Article 23!?" he continues to simmer after a mini pause for a deep breath, and the dark energy around him intensifies, this can't be healthy, but something catches my eye in his speech.
"Sorry, but no, what would that article be if you don't mind me asking?" the smaller man finally replies after the other has caught his breath.
"Excuse me? I can hardly believe what I'm hearing. You really don't have a clue about Article 23 of the Queen of Hearts' Decrees: 'You mustn't bring a cat to a party'!?" replies the indignant boy, "it's almost unbelievable. What a stunning lack of quality education!"
"Do I look like a diplomat to care about that?" I ask dryly, raising an eyebrow "by the way, that's not a cat, for someone who mocks my supposed lack of manners so much you don't look much better"
"You...! Of course it's a cat!" He snarls, stepping forward to stand chest to chest with me. "No matter which dormitory you're elected to, as the leader of Heartslabyul dormitory, I have a duty to uphold the Queen of Hearts' decrees and as such you must be punished!"
Okay, this is where I draw the line, I won't be punished for shit I'm not guilty of and I don't care.
"Look here brat, I don't care if you're a dorm leader, a teacher or a fucking god! I'm not part of your dorm, I'm not under your jurisdiction! So shut the fuck up and stay in the insignificance of your existence! I wasn't even selected so the only person in this room with the right and power to criticize me is the Headmaster, not you, are we clear!?" I proclaim without raising my voice but with clear conqueror's notes so that the message is well conveyed "so, unless you are the Director, may I proceed with the selection and save our precious time that you waste?"
His emotions freeze for a second and he is speechless, apparently not expecting me to hit back, which is stupid, it's like punching someone and not expecting to get one back, every action has a reaction, small.
"Ahem! Rosehearts-kun please return to your seat, Dy... D?-kun? Proceed with your selection," Crowley intervenes, causing the brat's hatred - it hasn't been anger for a long time - to turn towards him, but after a few tense seconds Rosehearts returns to his seat, swallowing his pride dry "Young man, give me your familiar, I won't let he get away this time"
He offers, but I refuse, after this mess? There's no way he can separate me from my son! Turning to the mirror, I approach him again.
"D. Yuu" the mirror proclaims in recognition, "the shape of your soul..."
If Yuu drew one of his knives now, they was sure could literally cut the tension in the room
"That's not right" the mirror announces to everyone's amazement.
"Huh?" Murmur who I now know to be Rosehearts.
"Come back a bit? O dark mirror, could you repeat what you just said?" Dire asks, still stunned.
"That's not right, this one's soul doesn't belong to any active dormitory, so it can't be selected!" He says at last and his magic coming back to rest.
"THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE!" shouts the principal as the students begin to look at each other and argue
Soft laughter and whispers fill the room, but one particular group catches Yuu's attention again, they come from the group that was talking to the director earlier and, well, if they had a bad omen before, it has just been confirmed by the cruel laughs coming from the group.
"Well well, that was certainly disappointing" comments the loan shark to the beautiful voice, to my surprise, he really was disappointed, as if a deal had gone wrong (don't think about it don't think about it don't think ab-)
"Remind me who said that a powerful wizard would join our ranks this year?" asks the beautiful voice, but her emotions are disdainful, so bitter that they leave a bad taste in the back of her throat.
"The principal without a doubt, watch the video" says the floating box and then the principal's voice says "-and that being the case, I'm going to look for our new special student who got loose and ran away, be on the lookout, gentlemen!"
A stomach-churning anxiety comes over Crowley as he gestures to the faculty.
"As far as I know, the dark carriage would never travel to greet the wrong person!" he declares hastily, "an oversight like that hasn't happened once in the last hundred years!"
"Don't worry, it's like they say: there's a first time for everything," says the lazy man giving the ultimatum, merciless and cold, is that really necessary?
"Except that's not what happened, mind you!" Crowley turns towards me asking for help with encouragement from the little sun "You had your familiar accompanying you, so you clearly have some magical aptitude!"
"Well, he's not technically my familiar, but yes, I am indeed magically adept," I agree, but no one seems to take it very seriously so I continue, "who do you think put out the fires? Or do you think they miraculously disappeared on their own? Just because I don't use magic like you doesn't mean I don't have it"
"Besides, the dark mirror said that I don't belong in an active dormitory, not that I'm a mistake, you should be more attentive instead of making fun" I finish calmly, which generates a lot of disgust and snorts of derision from the students, well, their problem not mine, but on second thought, with the level of hostility in the room rising so quickly this could be a problem, it seems that refuting the arrogant pests wasn't expected.
Clapping his hands, the director regained everyone's attention after regaining his composure.
"That brings the ceremony to an end! If each dormitory head would be so kind as to escort their new faces back to their respective dormitories, please!" he turns to me again "please stay here until we can sort out your situation"
I nodded and watched as the group called out to their new students and slowly began to evacuate the chamber, but some seemed confused and lost as they didn't follow anyone.
"Hmm? Looks like someone's missing, where's Malleus Draconia-kun?" Asks the principal and the dormitory leaders don't seem to mind, apart from the little sun, of course.
"Come to think of it... That stupid lizard not turning up must be the reason I'm in such a good mood." the slacker comments, exuding disgust and reeking of resentment.
"I suppose we forgot to extend the invitation again," Bela replies indifferently, hm, doesn't anyone have a good relationship with this Malleus? I wonder what he's like. Is there a fight between him and the others?
"Again? Man, I'm really sorry about the guy" the little sun laments with a little tightness in his chest. Before the apology can continue, I feel the familiar vibration in the air and a new presence manifests itself next to Crowley.
"It's exactly as I expected" The new voice is calm and deep, his soul is fascinating, it's been a long time since I've met such an old soul, especially one so interesting, there are so many things in it, many I don't recognize even with everything I've seen, some I do, or I think I do, it's such a confusing and disconnected tangle, I can't put it into words, but it's fantastic, his calming presence only makes everything even more wonderful (even with the dots of anger mixed in with that peace).
"God! When did you get here, Vanrouge-kun?" Crowley acts scared, but his soul isn't like that, what an oxymoron, it's almost as if he expected it, but didn't want to show it (as if he was used to it).
"Once again, we weren't warned about the ceremony, I was hoping to find him in time, but it seems it was too late," he sighs, it doesn't seem to be the first time this has happened, and from the indifference of the others it doesn't look like it will be the last, o'that's depressing and unprofessional, don't they realize that everyone is being hindered by this? "Poor Malleus, I hope he's not too upset about it."
"That's our fault, but I mean, it's not like we're trying to exclude him or anything" says the loan shark, honestly? It sounds so false and empty that even without observation I can see it's a forced excuse.
"Maybe the darling should stop causing his own problems, like always looking so unapproachable that it makes others uncomfortable to look for him," the Beautiful comments and I sense agreement coming from some of the dorm leaders.
"Kufufu now now, don't be like that, we're all classmates here, so please feel free to make friends with him!" Vanrouge states and turns to the students who still look lost "There's no need to worry, freshmen, everyone who has been assigned to Diasomnia can follow me, your deputy leader, in place of our dorm leader, Malleus Draconia”
"When he says Malleus Draconia, he means, like... THAT Draconia, right?" my ears picked up the conversation of a few boys nearby.
"So it's true? Does he really study here?" Another asked more excitedly, hm, is this Draconia some kind of celebrity? It would make you feel-
"Damn... I hope I never meet him" or not, yeah, it seems he's more infamous in that case.
"It would have been better to skip the circus and go straight to bed... Savanaclaw newbies? We're coming" the lazy man comes out with various auras, but curiously they all seem to have one trait in common, cunning? No, something more like alicantin.
"GG, everyone, check the minimap I'm sending to your phones to come back," orders the floating box before it deactivates itself and a bundle of social anxiety leaves the room.
"New Heartslabyul students, serious expressions! Your first step will be with your left leg! Now, get into the rhythm of your deputy leader!" orders Rosehearts with barely contained anger as he wanders among the rows of students correcting those who are "wrong", he has serious problems with control.
Each leader gives his order and gradually the hall empties, leaving only me and the principal in the hall.
"That... certainly wasn't in the plans" Crowley sighs, breaking the awkward silence that had settled in "I thought we'd finally be able to triumph over 'them' this year, that a mage who rivaled Draconia-kun would join our ranks…”
"Don't be like that principal, I'm sure that even without a mage like that this year, you'll manage" comforts the principal absent-mindedly stroking the puppy, this doesn't comfort him much, but there's not much I can do so I continue the conversation "what will happen to me now?"
"Oh, right, unfortunately as you weren't assigned to a dormitory we'll have to send you back home" explains the principal and I feel a wave of relief wash over me "as this was a mistake on our part, I'll get the dark mirror to send you back where you came from".
That was easy, at least he admit their mistakes.
"Just imagine your house in as much detail as you can," mutters the director, raising his arms and the magic of the mirror rekindles, "oh, dark mirror, guide this one to where it belongs!"
The magic burns but nothing happens, I tilt my head to the side of the director and ask.
"Should it take so long?" He shakes himself, clears his throat and tries again.
"It's nowhere" my blood freezes at that statement, how? How can Elbaf be nowhere? The world government has never gone near the island of the giants! How? What happened? How could such a large island disappear overnight? What did they do?" "It doesn't belong anywhere in this world"
"Excuse me!" I hear the director shout from a distance, but I don't care, the words from the mirror echo in my head over and over again, how do I not belong anywhere? What does that mean? I belong, if only in the ashes of an ancient kingdom, how can I belong to nothing? What's going on here?" "That's impossible!"
Crowley repeats the question a few more times, but the answer doesn't change. "It doesn't exist" the mirror always proclaims, killing the glimmers of hope one by one.
"Excuse me, what's your name again?" The director asks, but I no longer feel like answering, but he insists, "Where did you come from, young?"
"Elbaf" my voice fails me, but he doesn't comment, too immersed in his own thoughts
"I've never heard of such a place, which is highly unusual, I usually have at least a general idea of where each student comes from, but I've never heard of Elbaf," he says after a few minutes, "tell me, you're not lying, are you?"
"What exactly would I gain by lying like that!?" I shout, holding the puppy tightly, and he squirms a little in my arms "do you think I don't want to go home!?"
"Right, that wouldn't make sense, come on, let's do some research in the library, it might shed some light on the situation," Dire says with a soothing tone, holding out his hand towards me, which I readily accept (my head is too agitated for me to concentrate on following him).
The research is carried out in relative silence, only the sounds of pages being turned fill the room.
"Nothing, not just on world maps, but not even a mention anywhere in history, has your country ever had another name? Any other term that refers to it?" Crowley asks, drawing my attention.
"Some people call them the strongest country in the world or the land of giants, but apart from that, as far as I know Elbaf has never had another name," I reply calmly and he seems to consider my words.
"Land of the giants..." he looks at me for a few moments before saying, "I don't know about that either."
"Have you heard about Sabaody? Skypiea? Alabasta? Island of the fish-men?" I ask tired, if I can't go back to Elbaf, at least I want to be on the grand line
"... I've never heard of those places," admits the director thoughtfully, "maybe you're not from this world."
"Huh?" I tilt my head in confusion and wait for him to continue.
"That's just a theory, but it would make sense seeing as I don't know any of the places you mentioned," he explains, pulling a piece of paper from the pile, "do you recognize any kingdoms on this map?"
"That's curious, can you tell me more about yourself and your world?" What should I tell him?
"Hmmmm, in my world, there is the world government, it was formed two hundred years ago by kings of twenty kingdoms who wanted to destroy a kingdom, today it is called the ancient kingdom" basic facts about history should suffice "because they won, these nobles elected themselves 'creators' of the world"
"That's interesting without a doubt, but do you have anything on you? A document or a cell phone?" Crowley asks, confusing me once again
"What exactly would a cell phone be, sir?"
"There are no cell phones in your world? How unusual, a cell phone is a device that we normally use to contact people far away, making calls and sending messages" explains the older man patiently.
"Hmmmmm, then this would be like a Den Den Mushi!” I realize excitedly, maybe I can find one, since mine seems to have disappeared (or been destroyed) "but no, I don't have any Den Den documents with me, I'm empty-handed"
"That's a problem, as a principal I can't let someone who wasn't chosen for a dormitory stay at school, but as an educator, I can't just throw a teenager out on the street without a penny or how to contact their guardians" comments the principal, yeah, It seems that the welcome has come to an end "For I am gracious"
The last part seems like a linguistic habit, but who am I to judge? Everyone has their own way of asserting themselves.
"Well, I appreciate your welcome, but I think it's time for me to leave," I say, getting up and picking up my puppy, who has spent the whole conversation asleep on the table... I think I've overdone it, but it's okay, it doesn't seem to be affecting him negatively.
"Where do you think you're going!?" exclaims the director exaggeratedly loudly, making the little one squirm in my arms.
"You said yourself that I can't stay on the school campus, so I'm leaving," I explain as I hear the rain start to fall outside... What an inconvenience, I'll have to create a barrier to protect my baby, I don't want him to get sick.
"You have been summoned by the dark mirror! And... As such, you are now the responsibility of the school! So you can't just leave like that!" Dire concluded after a few pauses, it seems he doesn't want to send me away... Curious no doubt, many would be happy to be relieved of responsibility, perhaps he really is kind.
"Since you insist" I sigh but don't sit down again, the dark mirror, now that I think about it, his words were very specific "Headmaster, the dark mirror said that I don't belong to any active dormitories, Correct?"
"Yes, Yuu-kun, those were his words," confirms the older man.
"If I don't belong to an active dormitory, could it be that I belong to a dormitory that has been closed? Is there such a dormitory?”
