"Radiant" Overblots - Worldbuilding
Hii I'm back on my bullshit. Here's some related worldbuilding here about how magic/blot works. If you're like wtf is an estellion its just what I call magic "particles" but again, there's more about it in the link. The silhouettes of the RSA characters woke up my brain a little.
------------------------------------------
"Radiant" Overblots, otherwise referred to as "Blotmania", are a much rarer type of Overblot. This condition differs from the classic Overblot in two main ways; pacing and emotional experience.
In a classic Overblot, estellions are siphoned uncontrollably into a mage's magic pool, allowing them to significantly increase their output in volume and power. This transformation takes a matter of seconds once a magestone and a mage's emotional bandwidth are both at capacity.
In Radiant Overblots, the build up is often much slower, as rather than being the result of negative emotions, this condition is caused by positive ones. Mages with a large enough magic pool often use their magic repeatedly to help other people. The dopamine caused by being of service to others or by gaining emotional connection through shared memories revolving around their use of magic is often what causes individuals to seek it again, essentially turning casting magic into an addiction. Over the course of weeks, the mage may experience insomnia, extreme mood swings, racing thoughts, and may become adrenaline-seeking, alleviated only when they use magic. Eventually, the need to continously cast spells will become overwhelming, and the mage will begin a transformation lasting a few minutes to an hour into their Radiant form.
In this form, they seek to make people happy, to match the euphoria they feel, casting spells with the intention of doing so. However, in this type of Overblot, estellions are being siphoned out of the mage to combine with environmental estellions. The energy transfer between genetic and environmental estellions becomes visible, causing a continous flash of brilliant white light; thus the moniker "Radiant". Rather than overwhelming a mage with power, Blotmania is a total loss of control. Spells intended to be small and harmless will often be the opposite, but it will not register in the mage's mind as such. Blotmanic mages loose most communicative function, often resulting in sounds of gibberish and laughter rather than words being said. Blotmanic mages are also at risk of permanent magic loss. Given the racing thoughts a mage experiences in a Radiant Overblot, memory of events during the OB are often "fuzzy" at best, though it also speaks to the speed at which spells are being cast.
There have been a few recorded instances in which a Radiant Overblotter began to register panic and discord around them. With emotions being heightened in general, guilt, fear, anger, etc. may all result in a Radiant Overblot to turn into a classic Overblot. This transformation is often fatal, and the remaining blot phantom will use the corpse as it's battery until it seeks out another source of magic.

it's super simple but if you can't see, there are thorny vines wrapped around his neck, wrists and ankles, like shackles. He's strung up like a puppet, but, who would be the one controlling the puppet...?
See if you can guess! Ehe :3
