this was the year of laufey for me. i started listening to her in the summer and she quickly became part of my daily listening! everyone should listen to promise from her latest album bewitched

9. Best month for you this year?

november was both the hardest and best month for me! i passed my phd exams!!! i was declared cancer free!! but also had to experience all the difficulties surrounding those happy moments. december has also been great so far

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

i'm excited to travel! i'll be going all over next year 😌

What is the favourite piece of clothing that you own?

Probably my long grey cardigan. It’s warm and it’s long, so it swishes behind me when I walk somewhere. I’m all about that “I have arcane powers your mind can’t even comprehend” vibe.

Tell me about the time you first watched your favourite movie?

Bold of you to assume I have a favourite film. 

What was the last book you finished?

Because Mr Brandon Sanderson doesn’t know what is a normal length for a book, then I finished The Way of Kings Part One today, currently reading Part Two. If you mean an entire book that wasn’t split in two by the publishers of the edition I have, Alloy of Law yesterday by the same Brandon Sanderson.

What is the next book you want to read?

After I finish The Way of Kings? I need to finish my reread of The Raven Cycle (currently only at The Raven Boys) by Maggie Stiefvater and I am in the middle of V.E. Schwab’s A Gathering of Shadows. Of the books I want to start? My tbr is years long. Probably another Brandon Sanderson, so continuing either of the story lines (Mistborn or Stormlight Archive), maybe something else (most likely fantasy, I’m on a roll right now). I’ll definitely be reading Claire Kann’s Let’s Talk About Love as soon as it is delivered.

When is your birthday and what do you want for it this year? (If it has already happened this year, did you get what your heart was set on?)

Mid-June and I got a rain jacket that I needed! It’s a really nice grey and it’s a good quality jacket. Otherwise, I have just gotten money, which, hey ho a student really needs.

If you were given one month and $10,000, where would you travel to?

Either all over Europe (Iceland and Italy first) or New Zealand. Oh, how much would it be to go to Antarctica?
