Typesetuary Day #6

Next up for Typesetuary: a free pdf of A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle (sized for half letter/letter folio). You can find it for FREE in my library!

This is my third Sherlock Holmes typeset, and I tried to use similar elements as the first two, but had to throw in some red since, well, *roll credits!* lol (it's not quiiiiiite scarlet red, as I decided to tone it down for grayscale printing--but still, a rather fine shade if I may say so myself!).

Hoping I can keep this up and post one typeset everyday for a month. So far, 6 out of 31 done!

Typesetuary Day #28

Four days left of Typesetuary, and #28/31 is The Innocence of Father Brown by G. K. Chesterton, sized for half letter (letter folio). You can find it for FREE in my library! (Personal use only!)

I was checking through Project Gutenberg, trying to figure out what to typeset next, and then I saw this book pop up and just knew I had to do it--even though I had never actually read it before! I LOVED watching the Father Brown tv show on BBC, and am now excited to add this book to my to-read list.

Typesetuary Day #23

Okay, this one's a short one! Today's Typesetuary typeset is Lamia by John Keats, sized for letter quarto. A veeeery short bind, but I decided to go with letter quarto instead of octavo as I always seem to struggle with layouts and margins on octavos.

Typesetuary Day #5

Today's free typeset is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (sized for half letter/letter folio).

You can find this book available for free with more than fifty others in my library! Any errors found, just let me know!

For this typeset, I decided to throw in some color with these pretty watercolor flowers I found. At first, I had black curves drawn around the headers, but then decided to remove them so that the flowers could breathe more easily and sprout more freely.

Typesetuary Day #31 [THE END]

It is January 31st.

31 typesets in 31 days.

And now comes the end of Typesetuary...

But. Also. The start of Binderary! If you're participating in Renegade Bindery's Binderary event and want to use one of my typesets, please feel free to do so and tag me! Completing my run of daily typesets, I now have 86 different books available for FREE! (Personal use only) This has been fun to do. I really enjoy typesetting, and getting to 'gamify' it for myself with daily/monthly goal scratched that achievement loving side of my brain.

Anyway, for the very last Typesetuary typeset, I thought I'd go back to the author of the very first pd typeset I ever shared here! Presenting: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen (sized for half letter/letter folio).

Typesetuary Day #1

Also, I wasn't sure whether to start off Typesetuary today or tomorrow, but I was too excited to wait! To start the event off, we have a free typeset of The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams! This book is sized for letter quarto, and was suggested by @dccomicsarebetter32 (thank you for the suggestion!).

You can find the full PDF for FREE in my library, where I'll be posting all my typesets of public domain works.

This was a fun festive story to do, and a great one to kickoff Typesetuary! The title page actually uses an image of the decorative endpapers from a hard copy of the book that I found on the Internet Archive. I thought it was super cute and detailed, and had to incorporate it into my typeset.

For the interior illustrations, I found images and ran them through a program to increase the resolution, so that they would fill up the pages better instead of being a blurry little square. Hopefully it worked out, and I was able to offer this beautiful book a semblance of justice.
