Shortly  after the mariage, she took over the accounts of House Tyrell, and increased their income by a third. When King Jaehaerys needed a new Master of Coins, Septon Barth put forward Lord Martyn Tyrell’s name, but in truth he desired the Lady Florence to perform the duties. Although Lord Martyn officially sat on the Small Council, it was Lady Florence who was in charge of the royal treasury.
