Maven/Tyton post WS AU in which Maven, after receiving treatment ofc, returns to Archeon for some kind of official event. Tyton is assigned as his guard because people still don’t fully trust Maven yet. They are immediately drawn to each other, but both mistakenly assume the other dislikes them, so there’s constant tension and sarcasm and fighting.

Over time, they begin to grow closer despite their arguments (maybe Tyton is witness to Maven being vulnerable at some point and he starts to care about him) until the tension finally breaks and they hook up. Last but not least, they get caught by Cal, who completely freaks out.

Cal and His Way of Displaying Jealousy

As few and far between were the moments when Cal expresses his jealousy and even possessiveness towards Mare. Those scenes are still quite memorable to me, not because "Ahhh, Cal is so cute when he's jealous," but more for how he reacts depending on the character at the scene.

For example:

Cal emitted a warning heat wave when Kilorn was holding Mare's arm, cause he was trying to say something to Mare. He knew that Kilorn was Mare's friend, but it was also their first time meeting, + he was delaying their departure. So, Cal, who was just being "protective" (✌️and not at all developing a crush on Mare✌️), had to make Kilorn back off from her.

We then have this iconic moment in War Storm when Tyton simply placed a gun on Mare's belt, and both immediately felt Cal's signature heat wave. Tyton backed off, amused and Mare absolutely pissed.

Based on these two scenes, it's clear that when Cal gets jealous, he makes it loud and VERY clear that he doesn't want them near her.

However, when Maven and Mare were quietly talking on the balcony moments before the Sun Shooting. Cal interrupted them to inform them that they are being summoned. When she passed by Cal, he only grazed her shoulder. It wasn't even angry jealousy, just sad longing.

When Cal walked in on Maven kissing Mare on the boat. Again, no heat waves, just him being stone-faced and sad.

Cal had no problem keeping other characters away from Mare if he thought they were standing too close to her, but he could never do that to Maven.

As much as Cal is very much in love with Mare and wants her more than anything else on this Earth.

Cal loves Mavey the most.

If Maven told Cal that he had feelings for Mare. Cal would have backed off, kept his distance from Mare. Cause he would rather longed and pined for Mare for the rest of his life than see his baby brother look at him with betrayal and disappointment.

mare: grand theft auto 💀🙏 any gta game she can get her hands on but it started with the chinatown wars on ds

cal: missed out on a proper childhood so is treating his inner child to fnaf for the first time and idk… something something about the story being an overarching narrative about a brother trying to pick up the remnants of his family through his grief… he says he doesnt get the lore butbhe kinda does. also had a goat simulator phase for the same reasons but minus the angst

maven: i would like to say some really cool psychological game but this mf would probs love playing chess against a cpu the most 💀 silent hill takes second place though (he’s obsessed with the idea of a purgatory of one’s own making… hmm… i wonder why 🤔)

evangeline: mario cart (she eats anyone who even THINKS of playing as peach)

elane: some sort of dating sim methinks… maybe like those ikemen games (let her be y/n)

ptolemus: fortnite for the dances.

kilorn: also fortnite but he has one-sided beef with ptolemus on there who keeps trying to add him. he also has the toph skin and keeps wiping the floor with his ass (ptolemus has the miles morales skin)

cameron: the attack on titan vr game where the world’s best comedy is originated from

gisa: what remains of edith finch. cursed family narrative goes hard with these folk.

shade: hes a legend of zelda girlie.

diana: she genuinely doesn’t play any game besides minecraft because she gets forced it by other people. but i know she’d love red dead i just don’t think she could be convinced into playing it (tragic)

iris: virgo versus the zodiac would speak to her, i feel. she has a secret weird side that only indie games could tease out of her.

wren: star stable!!! secret horse girl lore.

thomas: resident evil 4 because depending what you headcanon him as hes either feening for leon or ada or both.

coriane: definition of stardew valley girlie. but considering what she went through maybe yume nikki would be a game she keeps close to her heart (someone check up on her).

elara: if the sims 4 existed in the red queen verse it could have saved a lot of lives. maybe even her own.

sara: she wipes everyone in super smash bros you best believe it.

julian: castlevania: symphony of the night… mm the grip it has on this nerd loser… do not even breathe the name alucard around him he will give you the entire dracula lore starting with le fanu’s carmilla.

dane: detroit become human. played markus’ storyline and bro suddenly was made to govern a democratic republic for the people by the people.

Tyton/Maven thing where Tyton begins to begrudgingly care about Maven but if anything this only worsens Tyton's treatment of Maven. He fully starts trying to overcompensate for caring about Maven by being openly harsher towards him because what kind of person would he be if he started to genuinely care about the worst person alive?
