So, if you're upset about the upcoming train-wreck of Nolan's Odyssey, let me just remind folks about this under-appreciated GEM of a movie with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche chewing up scenery and reminding everybody why they both have multiple Oscar noms and Binoche has her own Gold Guy. Maybe if they'd put Fiennes up for The Return instead of Conclave, he might have won. This was, imo, the better film (and that's saying a lot as Conclave was brilliant).

Uberto Pasolini got it right. I feel like he understood Homer's vision, but then took and made it for the modern world. It's streaming on various services, I believe, but I'm really glad I saw it in the theatre.

Ralph and Juliette had previously worked together on Wuthering Heights (1992) and The English Patient (1996).

Filmed on the island of Corfu in Greece.

Ralph trained for five months doing both cardio and weight training to achieve his physique in the film. He also carefully followed a strict diet of proteins, vegetables and complex carbohydrates.
