sakuatsu

everything/nothing t. 8.4k. sakuatsu break up and sakusa tries to get over it. (spoiler: he doesn't, and neither does atsumu). you can feel the hole in sakusa's heart where atsumu used to fill while reading, and don't worry, there's a happy ending <3

darling, you're a holy quarantine t. 11.3k. atsumu is down bad for sakusa, yet he doesn't do anything about it. lovely, lovely prose that digs into atsumu's mentality and vulnerabilities.

among the sweetness in store, it's you i adore t. 27.6k. baker au where sakusa is atsumu's new coworker and they bond over sweets and competing in a competition together. good, steady development and very sweet.

ex nihilo nihil fit m. 66.9k. 5/5. au where atsumu is a painter who hasn't painted anything in months and sakusa is his neighbor writing a book. lots of discussions of creativity, adulthood, loneliness, and sacrifices made in the name of art, but mostly, it's about sakuatsu coming together to find comfort. i read this while at a bad spot and it made me cry. the tears were cathartic, and i was left reassured that everything will be okay.

sunaosa

curry rice and everything nice e. 7.5k. it's just pure smut. a plotline is that osamu is really into suna and cooks for him after seeing him eat instant noodles for the nth time. but really, they just get freaky. if you need some freak, you need this fic.

i’ll take you to go, please not rated. 15.8k. suna thinks he has dirt over atsumu when he sees him working at a mcdonald's, but it turns out it's actually osamu. you have not seen tired college student until you've seen osamu, and you have not seen anyone fumble harder than suna. put them together and you get this fic.

bokuaka

it's the easiest way (to know you're alive) t. 5.2k. right before exam period starts, bokuto picks up akaashi to go on an adventure. i just love the carefree vibes of college, stepping out to a secluded area with your crush...always magical.

desire lines t. 6.5k. lyrical pose about how akaashi falls in love with bokuto. always love and respect a more introspective work out of dozens of fun, fluff, and smut fics since reading them slows you down and makes you marvel just how amazing words can be.

iwaoi

fellas, is it gay to jerk off to the smell of your best friend's hoodie? e. 4.3k. title. according to iwa, the answer is yes, and oikawa thanks him for it.

even better than in my head e. 4.7k. oikawa wants to give somno a try and who is iwa to say no? always love fics where couples try something for the first time and the tenderness and fear associated with it.

Seven Minutes in Heaven e. 6.4k. oikawa's crazed fans drove them to hide in a supply closet while in a mall. yeah, you can figure out what happens next.

the middle man e. 10.9k. iwaoi shares a female partner with each other in bed until iwa realizes he doesn't want anyone else but oikawa. it's a very strange arrangement that works and iwa's gradual descent to his realization is amazing to read.

the memory lingers on m. 12.4k. hinata's mom passes away and hinata Does Not cope well. so, so tense and melancholic and heavy, but so, so worth reading. if you've ever lost a parent or family member, i extend my hugs to you <3

kuroken

does anybody know t. 9k. kuroo and kenma's romantic getaway in paris is ruined when kuroo needs to figure out who in the jva broke the window at their shared house. loved the wild goose chase and character interactions!

Not For Nothing m. 13.2k. hinata points out to kenma that kuroo's never said no to him and kenma puts this to the test. kuroo is just so absolutely whipped for kenma, to the point he'll do whatever he says is a lot of power. the tension is also a++

matsuhana

hang out fall in love t. 5.6k. matsukawa is the new witch doctor in town, totally cramping on hanamaki's style as an actual doctor. amazing dynamics, prose, and worldbuilding. matsukawa is amazing in this.

this isn't exactly how i thought i'd be spending my adult years not rated. 7.5k. college au with an alternative first meeting, where matsukawa lives in the same building as hanamaki, and they strike a tentative friendship. funny and relatable.

other

Finish Line e. 5.1k. seijoh4 (not poly, sorry), with an emphasis of matsuhana. basically, they race to see how to jerk off first to donate sperm. it's funny. it's weird. it'll make you smile. give it a shot.

varnished portrait of a waxen crow t. 5.2k. udai-centric with a hint of bokuaka. this is the fic for my aspec friends. nothing has captured how i feel more eloquently than udai struggling in an amatonormative society and coming to terms with his identity. also, udai using he/they pronouns? canon. i believe it.

These Words You Don't Hear e. 31.6k. 7/7. tsukkiyama. this month's tsukkiyama pining fic is about yamaguchi realizing he doesn't want any more lasts with tsukki but discovering more firsts at the end of high school. lovely karasuno4 dynamics with a happy ending.

I think transgender Hoshiumi is more interesting than transgender Hinata. Actually I'll take that a step further- I think transgender tiny giant is more interesting than transgender Hinata. I think it would be really interesting and compelling to see a trans guy as a role model for a highly successful male athlete, and to see him grapple with becoming essentially gender envy for boys that are left behind by the standards of typical masculinity. I think there's potential for a really beautiful story there, especially delving into the dilemma of being a male role model while living with the trauma of both transitioning and misogyny, which the same boys that praise you will never fully understand. I wonder if Udai Tenma picked a creative job because he loved it more, or because he felt he had more of a place there than in the world of professional sports. I wonder how it felt to see not one, but two pro players inspired by him in that space he never took up. Now imagine he's trans. That's ten lines of coke to my brain.
