this was so cute I didn’t want to overkill it by adding more - I’ll make a little follow piece as per the request so I can fulfil it, but this was adorable on its own I couldn’t resist!

“Come on kids, we don’t have all day!” I count each of their heads as they file into the Museum, each of their eyes widening at the entrance alone.
Letting out a quiet laugh I wait for my colleague to confirm everyone was present before we head inside, walking around as we wait for our guide to appear. “When does the tour start?” I hear a voice ask behind me and without turning my head I check my watch.
“About now, I think?” I question and I hear the voice let out a small sigh.
Before I have the chance to turn around I see Delilah run off in front of me, her fascination with Captain America enticing her as she hurries over to the glass case.
“Delilah!” I exclaim as I run over, my heels clicking across the floor as I kneel down in front of her. “Sweetie we can’t touch anything.” I smile softly as she pouts before returning to the rest of the class whilst a guide walks over with a bright smile on his face.
As we wander through the exhibitions I can’t help but admire everything. All of the pieces of history that remain in these walls, unable to leave but remain evident pieces of the past. “Fascinating, isn’t it?” That same voice asks and I simply nod, still not knowing who that voice belongs to.
“It’s just something else. This is what was Steve Rogers life and then it just changed in an instant.” I stand still in front of a video of him and Bucky, watching the two of them laugh together. “He lost everything, everyone he knew.” My voice drops as I push my glasses back on. “I can’t begin to imagine the kind of pain that could’ve resulted in.”
“You have no idea.” The voice mutters and I feel a light tug at my leg.
Looking down a few of the children have gathered around, their eyes almost bulging out of their heads as their mouths hang open. “What’s gotten into you guys?” I laugh before my colleague has the same expression on her face before motioning to the figure behind me.
“It’s Cap’in America!” I hear Stuart call out giddily and I let out a small laugh, knowing how easy it could be for them to mistake anyone for their hero, especially here.
Turning my head I smile, expecting to apologise to the stranger. But instead, I react the same as everyone else. “Oh wow.” I mutter and the man himself chuckles. “I’m sorry, erm, hi.” My words squeak and I can feel a blush rising across my cheeks, but he still smiles sweetly at me with those blue eyes focusing on me.
“Hi,” He mutters quietly, leaning closer towards me with a smile on his face. “these all your kids?”
I let out a small laugh, turning back to see them all lost in a transfix with Captain America. “No, no, they’re my students.” I finally get the words out without stuttering and Steve places his hand on my forearm before passing me to kneel down in front of my class.
“Hi kids, I’m Captain America.” He says so calmly, knowing they are struggling to contain their excitement. “Well, I’m glad I came today, I would’ve missed all the excitement of seeing you guys, the future generation!”
Glancing up to my colleague she smiles brightly to me whilst I just shrug my shoulders, completely bewildered that this is happening. “Can Cap’in stay Miss? Pweaaaseee?!” A series of students call out, and soon they’re all in a frenzy of pleads towards me.
Steve turns, looking up at me as he raises his eyebrow with a similar look in his eyes. “Come on, Miss. Please?” He asks softly and I feel my heart beating faster.
Without really thinking I simply nod. “Only if Captain America has nothing else planned. We don’t want to interrupt his busy schedule.”
“Oh, it’s no bother, Ma’am. I’ll happily take part in this tour.” He rises to his feet, standing next to me with a shy smile on his face as we continue walking and he shares stories of his times growing up.
As the tour comes to an end the children hug Steve’s legs, refusing to let go whilst I laugh at the sight.
My heart aches as I see him bend down, sitting with the kids sharing advice. “It doesn’t matter how big or small you are. Mighty or weak, you are your own solider, and you can handle anything.”
Unable to hide my smile my colleague guides the kids back towards the bus as they all jump up and down, still on a high from an unexpected guest at the museum.
“Hey, Ma’am?” Turning I see Steve remove his cap as he runs his fingers through his hair, facing me. I look around before pointing to myself, causing him to chuckle softly. “Yes, you beauty.”
My eyes widen and I cross my arms. “How can I help Cap?”
“It was something else hearing you in there, talkin’ bout my life and your perspective.” He explains and I can see a tint of pink cross his cheeks. “And, I was wondering if you’d like to get dinner sometime? Maybe without the twenty extra pairs of eyes on us?”
I let out a small giggle before uncrossing my arms “Yeah, I’d like that.” I nod and he sighs deeply. “And please, call me Y/n.”
“Well Y/n, I’ll be in touch.” He passes me a card before kissing my cheek lightly.
Turning around I leave the building, knowing those twenty pairs of eyes saw the entire thing.
