As the day drew to a close and the sun set over London, over 100 hundred of the UK’s leading analysts and AR professionals were busy drinking, talking and enjoying the spectacular views of St Paul’s Cathedral, the Shard and the city skyline. If you weren’t able to come along to this year’s IIAR summer party, you missed out on another treat of an evening. Someone described it as “the networking event of the summer” and if you were there, it’s easy to see why. Another said “stunning views, great company, interesting conversations, nice food, free booze – it couldn’t get any better.” The rooftop bar at The Grange hotel was packed with influential, high-profile and well-known analysts from Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Ovum, IHS, Current Analysis, Kable… The list seemed endless – everywhere you turned there was someone else who you wanted to talk to. This year, we continued to expand out of IT and telecoms and were delighted to welcome half-a-dozen analysts from Verdict, the retail analyst firm for the first time. The evening was hosted by the IIAR’s UK group. They would like to express their thanks and sincere appreciation to TCS whose generous hospitality has enabled the IIAR summer party to become the biggest and most popular analyst and AR networking event of the year. As one of the organisers was overheard saying “We topped last year which I didn’t think was possible. Now what are we going to do next year to beat this?”
