I found this cool #commemorativestamp honoring the #150thbirthday of #ukrainiancomposer #mykolalysenko the founder of #ukrainianclassicalmusic #lysenko composed music for piano, voice, and chamber music, but is perhaps best known as an #operacomposer His most famous work is the #opera #tarasbulba the opening melody of which is printed on this #postagestamp This opera, which is about a #ukrainiancossack rebellion in the 17th century was beloved by none other than #petertchaikovsky who knew and admired Lysenko. To make #fastplaying runs sound more brilliant, I make sure to vibrate the final top note. Sometimes my tendency is to be relieved the run is over and then stumble into the next part; however, brilliance and expression is lost this way. I’m more likely to notice if a note is late or early and fix it.
