Good, It’s a minis match without Shockerito who is the sole champion of the division. So without him around there isn’t much intrigue about these four fighting. Pierrothito though took him on over the weekend in a losing effort. So you could say that him losing here might be of some note and meant to put over either Fantasy or Ultimo as the next mini challenger, but that’s probably reading too much into a Tuesday Night opener.
Star Jr., Super Astro Jr. & Metatron vs. Raziel, Cancerbero & Hijo del Signo

Raziel in red black, Cancerbero also masked is his bigger partner and maskless Signo is their 3rd and only maskless guy here.
Good, Super Astro Jr. was good here as was Star Jr. as always. Haven’t seen much or any of Metatron, here he wasn’t too impressive. Only one performance, so don’t want to judge him too harshly. Raziel/Cancerbero were a good team like always, but nothing felt new or exciting here and Signo I’ve never really dug too much outside of the big cage match where he lost his mask.
Blue Panther, Black Panther & Blue Panther Jr. vs. Sagrado, Nitro & Kawato San

Sagrado in black, Nitro with fuzzy mohawk and Kawato with blue hair.
Very good, seeing the Panther Clan work together is always fun. Having Sagrado team with Nitro was a good change of pace even if I like Misterioso better, hopefully we can also get Misterioso in a team without Sagrado. Kawato San is night and day better now than when he arrived in CMLL over a year ago. Lots of people will likely be big Kawato fans in a year or two when he returns to Japan. It seems he is learning in CMLL and his change of gear recently marks 2019 as a new chapter, hopefully one with a bigger role, I’d love to see him challange for a title. Last Young Lion to hold a CMLL title was Hiromu Takahashi which Dragon Lee is still holding, having won the CMLL World Lightweight Championship from Hiromu in 2016. I’d have to imagine Kawato San challenging for that belt even in a losing effort would be a big moment. Could we see that happen in 2019?

Great, this might be the best lighting match this year? I’d have to see the list, but this would be up there. A hard fought contest and Cometa’s first singles match on CMLL’s Youtube since his makeover and adopting the more tribal look. It’s a very good showing from him, one of the most... stable hands on the roster. I think this could mean seeing him in Increible Pairs, maybe with Templario. There was one spot had an awkward set-up, but mostly this match was perfect. Templario had another great match with Titan a few weeks back, which would be the other big lightning match this year. Templario is on a roll. Super Astro Jr. vs. El Coyote was another great lightning match the same week as the finals of the Universal Tournament.

Very good, but disappointingly brief. I was hoping to see the tecnicos take the fight to the bruiser CMLL World Trios Champions, but really it played out mostly like a Los Guerreros Highlight reel. I like the stable, but I wanted to see more action with these six. 1st round had more action than it normally would though with Gran/Maya Jr. starting and showing some good chemistry. I’d assume at least 2 people here will be in Incredible Pairs.
NGD(Sanson, Cuatrero & Forastero) vs. Angel de Oro, Niebla Roja & Soberano Jr.
NGD are tonight are boot color coordinated, Sanson in black boots, Cuatrero in white boots and Forastero in gold boots.

Fantastic. I’d just say go watch this, because if you keep reading this could spoil the match for you. So that being said, what a great performance by all the parties in this contest. NGD as always are great as a unit and really showed it off here. Sanson/Soberano Jr. and Oro/Cuatrero have such good chemistry that everything in this match felt epic. Lots of moments of turn around and trading the upperhand. The end in particular nailed this, with this win, Oro/Roja/Soberano Jr. challenged post match for the Mexican National Trios championships, presumably that’ll happen next week, same place, same time. This was already one of, if not my favorite trios match this year, excited to see if/how they top this. Could Oro/Roja/Soberano dethrone the champs?
