Jacob flinched when she used his full name. If he wasn’t in deep water before, he sure as hell was now.
“I didn’t know she followed me into the room!”
Damn, this would have been so much easier last year. But now that Evie had her full strength back, he had almost no chance of escape. He slowly back up like a cornered animal until he felt his back hit the wall. Fuck!
He raised his arms in defeat, hoping she would have mercy.
“Evie, come on now. Let’s just talk about this.” He pleaded with a terrified sheepish grin on his face.
