Underswap New Years
Underswap!Sans X Reader, Underswap!Papyrus X Reader
Happy new years everybody!! I hope this one is a good one!!
This New Years was not supposed to be any different.
You tended to spend it alone, or with family. Even in your 20′s age was catching up with you enough that the second the ball dropped you were out like a light. Age made you OK with that, though, so you enjoyed your new years none the less.
But in the past year you made two very sweet, very cute, monster friends that insisted you spend New years at their party. And who were you to deny Sans and Papyrus puppy eyed look when you already knew you didn't have any plans.
The real monster, that’s what you would be.
So you dressed up a little nicer that night (Totally not because maybe you wanted to look good for them) and made your way to their house that was...
...oddly quiet. When Sans mentioned the word “Party” you expected something... a little louder? More music? Monsters drunkingly setting off those weird, magic, firework-like creations of theirs in the backyard while Sans worried over the state of his lawn. But as you walked up to the door all you could hear was the soft chatter and the hum of music from the other side.
You knocked.
The door swung opened instantly, a starry eyed Sans looking up at you as he said, “WELCOME!! DINNERS ALMOST READY SO COME IN!!” He ushered you in, “YOU DIDN'T REALLY HAVE TO DRESS UP FOR TONIGHT, BUT YOU LOOK VERY LOVELY!!”
“Oh,” You said, dumbly, “Thanks Sans, I--um-- I thought this was going to be an actual party?”
“Nah...”
Your head turned to see Papyrus settled on the couch, sprawled out so that he took up the entire space. One leg was over the top, another buried itself in the cushions, “Wanted something quiet for once.” he said and then smiled at you, “Figured you’d appreciate it.”
“MORE LIKE WE DON’T WANT ANOTHER NIGHT OF ALPHYS AND UNDYNE MAKING OUT ON THE COUCH WHILE WE’RE ALL FORCED TO WATCH.”
“Yeah,” Papyrus said, “That too.”
You were lead to the couch where Papyrus stayed sprawled out. After a few moments of Sans yanking and tugging at the sack of bones he gave up. With a huff he lifted you only slightly, “FINE!” he snapped, “BE A BRAT! DON’T MOVE! BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO KEEP OUR FRIEND COMPANY WHILE I FINISH DINNER!”
Without warning he dropped you on top on Papyrus, who only let out a shocked grunt in response, but other then that was not bothered by the additional weight. He wrapped his arm around your waist, “Hey.”
You ignored the way your heartbeat sped up, “Hey...”
-
The two had been really insistent that you came, and you could have guessed a few reasons why...
The main one was because you had been avoiding them.
You didn’t mean to at first, Sans and Papyrus were lovely monsters. In the Year you had met them you three had become fast friends; going everywhere together, sharing food and drinks without a second thought, and even spending nights over each others homes when someone was too tired (Or lazy) to actually leave.
And, inevitably, you developed these dreaded feelings. The kind that made it harder for you to every say the right thing around them or talk at all, and you tried your best to push those feelings aside worried that you might ruin this fantastic friendship you had, but every time you saw them it got harder and harder to shove those feelings down. Eventually you decided to try a new route. Which somehow lead to you convincing yourself that maybe if you had some time off from the two then the feelings would die down on their own. You started to avoid them. Not fully avoid, but just enough that you figured it would help you.
And, like all your genius plans, it didn't work.
Which lead to the boys practically begging you to come to their New Years Not-actually-a-party Party. And, ever the weak willed, you caved.
-
Dinner was delicious, as usual for Sans cooking skills.
After the two had practically shoved you into some of their old Pajamas and dragged you back onto the couch, Papyrus turned on the TV. Sans placed a board game on the table in front of you.
“WE STILL HAVE A FEW HOURS LEFT,” He insisted, “AND UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE I DON’T WANT TO SPEND IT WATCHING A BUNCH OF HUMANS STAND OUTSIDE IN THE FREEZING COLD WAITING FOR A BIG SHINY BALL TO DROP.”
Papyrus snorted, he leaned in closer to you and whispered, “At least someone’s did.”
“PAPYRUS!!”
-
The dice clattered off the table and onto the ground, from where he sat Papyrus groaned, “Sannnnsssss...”
“YOU THREW THEM OFF THE TABLE, YOU GET THEM.”
“But Brrroooooooo....”
You giggled. You peeked over Sans and said, “You rolled a 10”
9!
“Thanks babe.”
8!
He moved his piece, and Sans picked the dice up from the floor.
7!
“DON’T BE SO DICE TO HIM, HE MAY GET TOO USED TO IT!”
6!
Sans rattled the dice in his hand for emphasis before throwing them on the board in a more controlled manner. Papyrus groaned.
5!
“Four, bro.”
3!
“AH FUCK--”
2!
You felt like there was something you were forgetting...
1!
The cheer of the crowd was so soft that you could barely hear it over the two brothers bickering. Without waiting for Sans to move his piece, you went to pick up the dice only to drop them as the two skeleton monsters pressed against either side of you.
Without lips it was harder to kiss, but the two brothers got their message across just fine as they nuzzled into the sides of your face.
Sans loud “MAWH!” may have also helped as well.
“Happy new years.”
“HAPPY NEW YEARS!!”
Happy new years indeed.
