Finally got to scratch off another one in my bucket list and that is SCUBA DIVING. My first-time diving was around the last quarter of 2020, in Medina, Mis. Or. (Philippines) and limited to 10 feet and was a great experience for a first timer, not deep enough to cause panic or fear. Our diving guide was friendly and I barely notice the time and was surprised that it was all over. The second time was just a week or two from my 1st dive, however was a different experience. It was Both exhilarating and consternating. I was excited yet the pessimist in me kept me a bit agitated. I combated and overcame fear with for 2 dive spots, 45 minutes each as our dive went as deep as 35 to 45 feet. The fear and anxiety were worth it, the scenery was amazing. Aladdin’s song of A Whole New World is the perfect description for the scene underwater. A world unlike any other, a whole new ecosystem, large corals looking like mountains, biggest shells I’ve ever seen, kelps, sea urchins, I swear I saw some underwater trees or maybe just aquatic plants. I swam with different species of fishes and other sea creatures, it was awkward with me barely knowing how to swim. The experience left me with a profound respect and appreciation for the underwater world.
