why do I keep getting sucked into fandoms I have no interest in?
like Marvey. Itâs been ages since I saw the series, when I watched it, it didnât even have a season 9 and I stopped at like season 3?
And now Iâm sucked into it.
Same with James Bond. and DC. TBH I didnât know how many Robins there were, and Iâm still only peripherally aware of comic canon.Â
Like what is going on? Is this one of the side effects of tumblr?
Amid all the unknowns, there's only one thing we know with certainty about how a war would play out in Ukraine: it would be unpredictable. Whatever happens, it's not going to unfold precisely as military planners predict, no matter how detailed and well thought-out they might be. [ ... ] Â Â It's the geopolitical manifestation of the wisdom famously imparted by former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson: "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Â [ ... ] Â Wars almost never play out exactly as planned. That is not to say that no war is ever worth fighting. But when disputes shift from diplomacy and politics to shooting on a battlefield, everything changes. As Putin's forces mass along three sides of Ukraine, we can only hope he, too, is a student of history and understands there's a high likelihood that an invasion will not turn out quite as he expects.
Frida Ghitis at CNN.Â
Wars may have immediate winners and losers but those who start wars seldom end up with the long term result they had hoped for.
George W. Bush flew out to an aircraft carrier to declare âmission accomplishedâ seven weeks after invading Iraq under false pretenses.
Of course the invasion destabilized the area and directly led to the formation of ISIS which is still active today.Â
Things could end up far worse for Putin if he invades Ukraine. Heâd have a stubborn insurgency in his back yard which could eventually have political and economic repercussions in Russia.Â
Unexpected Consequences Teaser 03
Luke, Mara, Lucinda, and Artoo successfully evaded the stormtroopers and have finally found a place to stop on their first night in Myrkr's forest. And Lucinda has finally realized who she crashed with.

It was another beautiful day in Green Hill Zone, with the sun and the puffy white clouds blowing by. Atop one of its unique natural features, a loop-de-loop within a very defined plateau, was a little metal box hidden away.
And lying against said box, was a much less inconspicuous hedgehog.
The warm light was a comforting change from the rain thatâd been going on for a few days now that heâd been wandering. A change of pace and rest was refreshing, and probably for the best.
âI wonder why I never came here. With weather this nice, every day? Feels like nothing could go wrong!â
Silver should have known better than to say such words aloud.... but he would, very, very soon.
Harry was going back to school. He was going to play Quidditch, sleep in lessons, hang out with his friends, and generally just enjoy being a kid for a change. And he was also going to do it while being bonded with Malfoy, because apparently life was just going to continue throwing curveballs at him. Harry didn't know why he expected anything different.

âI wasnât thinking about Câbaoth,â Luke admitted. âI was thinking about us.â He gestured between their bodies in the Skipray cockpit as if that would draw her closer. âItâs an old habit.â And one he had no desire to break himself of if he was brutally honest.
âOld habit?â Her eyebrows lifted over her brilliant green eyes.
His cheeks grew hot, but if he was foolish enough to follow a mentally ill Jedi Master for a week, he might as well be foolish enough to crush everything with this woman. âAfter getting away from Grakkus, I thought about us.â Especially in his cold, lonely bunk on Hoth. âI had a fantasy that if I had dared to kiss you in that cell, you would have escaped with me, stayed with me.â
A blush bloomed across her cheeks. âIâm glad I made such a favorable impression.â She met his gaze. âI thought about you too, over the years.â
He dared and stepped closer. âWould you have escaped with me if I had?â
âThereâs no way to know that. We were two different people then.â
He steeled himself against the blow. He knew that; he knew it nine years ago. Why did he keep thinking his luck would change?
Mara closed the gap between them and set her hands on his chest. His circular thoughts screeched to a halt. âBut a kiss isnât unwelcome now,â she said.
He reached up with his left hand and cupped her cheek before pressing his lips against hers. Her lips parted under his. She was sweeter than his imagination had built up over the years. Her hands moved up to his shoulders. He curled his right arm around her back, pulling her close. How she fit against him sent a rush of lust through him that hardened his cock.
She gasped as their mouths separated, but her hands gripped his shoulders. Her eyes smoldered under her lashes. âDonât stop.â She slid her arm around his shoulders, pressing tighter against him.
He answered her with another kiss, opening his mouth to her questing tongue. His left hand moved to the back of her head under her braid. He wished her hair was loose to wrap around his fingers. Their mouths parted to gasp for breath, but he didnât wait to fill his lungs again before tilting her head back and pressing kisses along her jaw to her ear.
Her gasps were more than just breathing but not fully formed words either. Her lust seeped from behind her formidable mental shields and rubbed against his much like their bodies were. A deep primal urge demanded to strip her, to copulate with her, to make her scream with delight.
He rebuked that urge. It had to be her choice. It always had to be her choice, because of the one time it hadnât been. His lips closed around her earlobe and her fingernails dug into his back along with her breathy moan.
He released her earlobe. âHow much do you want, Mara, luminous Mara, how far do you want to go? Because I want to take you to the bunk and show you how much I remember of what you taught me.â
She pulled back, but didnât let go of him. âI have no idea how much of that is accurate any more. My bodyâs not the same one you remember, Luke. Not after having a baby.â
His heart gave a leap at the confirmation that there hadnât been anyone else since Lucindaâs father abandoned them. All the more reason to treat them right, to court her well as Aunt Beru would admonished him. He pulled his right arm back so she could fully retreat if she wanted to. âMineâs not the same either.â
She huffed a slight laugh as she wrapped her arms around his neck again. She kissed him softly. âLetâs go explore.â
Bit of lost time
Iâve been prepping for a second job for most of September, which I did get. WOOT! Iâm not anticipating losing my writing time, but I may have to be more radio silent than I usually am.
State of current projects
The rest of the Mission on Mimban posts are going up tonight. Enjoy the rest of that insanity. I really donât know when Iâll get started on narrative for that project because of item number two.
Rescue the Farmboy AU: Liberationâs edits: I was never happy with the pacing and the plot structure math wasnât computing right and I turned to a new-to-me editing method to figure out if the story was fundamentally broken or not. One of the steps was to outline the scenes in a timeline so you can see what all the characters are doing at a certain times. I decided to calculate hyperspace travel times for it too, since I do have characters converging from different planets and at different speeds. I could always throw it out, but it turns out Iâm not going to. To accommodate the Death Starâs slow ass, Iâve been coming up with new scenes for the first act and I have to write them. Thatâs ahead of Mission on Mimban.
Star Wars: Unexpected Consequences: I have started the narrative for this novel. But I have only made it to the second scene, so no completion time stamp.
And the very fluffy family masquerade I wrote for Halloween is in the beta readerâs hands. That will be the next story posted before the season is over with.
