When we are first introduced to John Perseus towards the beginning of Dallas, I thought for sure he was going to be the baddie of baddies for the Academy.  I was wrong in the best way. John Perseus managed to turn himself into a hero (I certainly didn’t expect it) by throwing aside his father’s legacy.  And it was brilliant.

She sighed wishing she'd experienced something like that in her life…something to make up for all the shit she has been through.  “I wouldn’t know.” Zoey whispered, lifting her face to the black velvet sky.“ I have never had that…ever.” “What?” Kyu asked somewhat stunned. “You have to trust to love…and besides a very special few.” Her words trailed off. Why was she telling him this? Why did she feel so comfortable with him and no one else?
