A little throwback Thursday to one of the most amazing adventures of my life. Felt like a kid wheeling around Universal Studios with the love of my life.

My one friend is trying to tell me the more recent Universal Orlando hotels and the newly announced ones are well themed and good looking.

Putting aside the fact that they will have like 17 hotels now with just a variation of “beach” as a theme, and nearly all of them are just brightly colored midcentury boxes, and that even the best themed of all their hotels is still rather lacking, This is a prime example of why theme park companies so often engage in lazy design. Guests just don’t care.

I mean really, please someone tell me with a straight face that these hotels have distinguishable themes from one another and look like anything other than generic hotel buildings with nice paint jobs.
