This was at the tips of all the tree branches, I don't know if it's a flower or dead growth, or new growth, or just coral that came ashore. I've decided it is a flower.

Today's featured song is: "Unknown Unknowns" by Team Kamiuta feat. Yuzuki Yukari & IA! (cw: nudity, and video contains flashing imagery)
"Site conditions always pose unknowns, or uncertainties, which may become known during construction or operation to the detriment of the facility and possibly lead to damage of the environment or endanger public health and safety. The risk posed by unknowns is somewhat dependent on the nature of the unknown relative to past experience. This has led me classify unknowns into one of the following two types:
1. Known unknowns (expected or foreseeable conditions), which can be reasonably anticipated but not quantified based on past experience as exemplified by case histories (in Appendix A) and
2. Unknown unknowns (unexpected or unforeseeable conditions), which pose a potentially greater risk simply because they cannot be anticipated based on past experience or investigation.
Known unknowns result from recognized but poorly understood phenomena. On the other hand, unknown unknowns are phenomena which cannot be expected because there has been no prior experience or theoretical basis for expecting the phenomena."
- British Columbia Royal Commission of Inquiry into Uranium Mining in 1979
Unknown unknowns is a really good phrase and didn’t deserve to be coined by Donald Rumsfeld
Running in my head
Fire at the breeze stealing from my mind
Like a doom filled rain on my birthday
Can my life be a bombshell falling from the sky
Great flood of dreams flow sweetly through me
The mind is a trap a maze of excessive mysteries
All my thoughts wander to irrelevant moments
People places faces and drunken cases
The mind a computer of biological expression
Heal the scars as best as you will try
A mind not such a thing to waste in time
Vacant eyes show im always in my mind
Living inside a introverted poet of chaos
Crestfallen fool writing what my mind feels
Crushing the light illuminated in shadow
Wrath following my soul woeful a black
Hole
Rather to write to dream to be free and no room for love maybe?
Words worth a million scenes a trillion things but here and now is the scheme
One of my media literacy litmus tests is the Superman monologue in Kill Bill. Before their final fight, Bill talks at Kiddo about how Superman is this superhuman who disguises himself as a man who is meek, weak, and unremarkable, which Bill describes as Superman's view of humanity.
But then Bill seems to think that Superman was Superman before he became Clark Kent, so maybe he's not super familiar with the character. Not to mention that he's the primary antagonist of the entire story who previously attempted to have the main character murdered and kidnapped her child, so like, not exactly a great person you might want to trust. Hence why this is one of my go-tos to see if someone actually pays attention when they consume media.
Anyways, that's not my point here. My point is, Bill is very confident in what he (thinks he) knows about Superman, and he is similarly confident in what he (thinks he) knows about Kiddo. How does that play out for him when the fight kicks off?
Oh, right. He's dealt the killing blow before he can make it out of his chair. Because he didn't actually know about how his own protege was trained by the master he specifically sent her to be trained by. He just assumed that Pai Mei didn't teach her anything he hadn't bothered to teach Bill.
The Unknown Unknowns bite you in the ass every time.
