I have asked no one to watch it with me

I have simply wailed repeatedly in their presence about how much I love everyone in the show

and some of them are still uninterested

and some of them have said ugh but TAWSNBN is awful 

to which I reply BUT SHE HATES THE SHOW!

and sometimes that’s enough and sometimes it’s not, fair point, CC is awful

BUT, if they have no CC opinions and or concede the point

at some point when they’ve got a free moment they recall me yelling and try the first episode

and a few of them thought it was awful and gave me a wtf is wrong with you jilly sort of reply

and the rest of them joined me in the emotional spiral of melodrama and delight and horror and malec <3 (and being very gay for pretty ladies, most of them, that’s an important point too)

the boys are asleep, the husband has to do work things, I have a bottle of hard (pear) cider (idk, but it’s good) and I am going to attempt to FINISH ONE OF THESE DARN FICS

alternatively, feel free to ask me impertinent questions about fics or smut or my overwhelming abundance of Shadowhunters feels, it seems like it’s that sort of night

Well, I am 100% going to continue the e.e. cummings theme, I think it was more a case of is that particular line pretentious?

I bet. It’s such an easy fix, honestly, Lorraine is such an unreliable narrator. Probably why it bothered me as little as it did? It was pretty simple to go nope. I HAVE A MUCH BETTER EPILOGUE IN MY HEAD KTHX.

I really wish I could figure out how to do the crossover though, I really want to see it, and I don’t think anyone else is going to make it for me. *laughs*

They can try, but Robert (and presumably Max with him) are now in CALIFORNIA. Which is theoretically a minor quibble in the world of portals, but if Robert is determined to be a dick (which past evidence would indicate) I’m sure he can make it difficult for everyone.

Sorry to keep bugging you about this, but what makes you think it's after the episodes are produced and not after they air? Someone on twitter who works in contract law suggested that constantin couldn't even enter into negotiations with another network until freeform airs the eps and then constantin and freeform formally end their contract with each other.

No, it’s fine. What I’m saying is that the contracts between Freeform and the cast/crew end once the episodes are produced. Todd and the other producers, as well as the actors, will be “free” to champion the show once the production is done if they choose to.

That person is not wrong about the contract between Freeform and Constantin. It might as well end only after the episodes are aired. Or it might end earlier. That’s the nature of contracts: the parts can change them. That is what Freeform did when it canceled the show, after all.

Now, Freeform championed these two episodes to conclude the series; once they are done and delivered, there is nothing stopping Freeform and Constantin to part ways before the episodes are aired if both parts decide to do so. Freeform will have the product that it ordered and all the rights to use it. Constantin could end the contract with the producing company once there is nothing else to produce and find another one (e.g. Brooklyn Nine-Nine still had finished episodes to air at Fox but NBC was able to manifest interest anyway).

It all depends on the negotiation; if Freeform is willing to end the contract before the episodes air, if Constantin is willing to search for a new home for Shadowhunters, and if another Network is interested in the show as is.

After the episodes are fully produced; that means edited and ready to air. 

Airing the episodes is Freeform’s problem, not the cast’s or crew’s. Their job is done once they deliver the episodes to Freeform.
