Can I ask a legitimate question, with the note that I am genuinely open to response, and in fact would love to receive it?
Given everything that went down with #firerickremender, and given everything that's happened before whenever people voiced displeasure-
What is the way to best state that something is a problem? What is the best way to not just say "this bugs me because you're doing something I don't like with characters I love," but "this makes me feel less valued because of my race or gender," "this makes me feel unsafe reading," "this upsets me and I'd like to explain to you why so that you can do better in the future"?
I would love if, rather than an antagonistic relationship, readers considered to be in the minority of comics fans could have a productive dialogue with creators. I'd just really like to know how to do that in a way that gets heard, rather than ridiculed or dismissed.
So what's the best way to do that?
