Happy aromantic spectrum awareness week! Aromanticism is a valid part of the community and comes in a spectrum of different romantic identities! Aromantic doesn’t mean they are completely unopen to the romantic aspect of relationships.
Happy Black Queer History Week! Black queer individuals have played a vital role in advocacy and overall culture in the queer community for decades. A lot of slang terms, identities, and cultural practices/activities have had influence from the black queer community. And many areas in the USA and other countries have also flourished due to the individuals who bravely continued to be themselves. There are many black queer figures we celebrate for their advocacy work and refusal to conform to heteronormative societal norms. Thank you all for your hard work!
To continue hyping up our Queer Literature Festival, we are happy to announce our Short Story Contest for the event! We are partnering with the UNT Creative Writing Club and The North Texas Review to provide a contest for the local queer community. All rules and regulations are on the 2nd slide, as well as the QR code that goes to the form. GLAD’s LinkTree holds another copy of the form. The submissions will be reviewed by a team of judges and the winner will be announced at the festival.

GLAD is planning a Queer Literature Festival in March! This teaser graphic has examples of what we expect to provide at the event. There will be a short story contest that is accepting entries coming soon! More information will be on its way next month.
We are also accepting queer literature donations at our meetings. Any books you’d like to donate to us will be circulated to be given out at the event. We hope to see you all there!
reblog if you’re queer or a vampire. no one will ever know which one
What if we are both… 👀
This is an empty post just so you can like/un like it and see the arrow/cupid heart.
Valentine’s Day is coming up! Our next meeting will be activities that anyone can get in on. It is Bring Your Own Board Game night, alongside activity sheets for those who would like to do their own activity. This meeting is to get to know others as well as have fun. Bring your friends, yourself, allies, etc. Everyone is welcome at our meetings! This meeting is tonight!
GLAD’s semi-annual Silent Disco is coming soon on February 13th from 7-9 pm! It will be Valentine’s Day themed. We will have all love song channels, as well as a request channel. This will be available on our QR code, as well as in person as the night comes along. Using the headphones, you will have three channel options to dance along with friends. Perhaps you may even meet your future significant other! This event is open to everyone, queer members and allies alike.
Happy Pansexual Pride day!
December is HIV/AIDS Awareness Month! The LGBTQ+ community, more specifically the gay/mlm community, have historically faced higher rates of contraction of the virus. There has been a lot of awareness and programs surrounding STIs such as PrEP, Doxy PrEP, and advancement of management medications. But the most powerful tools are prevention via barriers, pre-contraction medications, and testing. Safe sex is the most effective method of staying STI free!
Happy Polyamory day! Love is free, no matter if it is monogamous or polyamorous.
i love this new gen of pop stars so much
an absolutely humungous update they just keep getting better
I think this needs an important addendum:
Not only did Billie Eilish donate $11.5M, she also called out a room full of billionaires, including Mark Zuckerberg, directly to their faces, saying "If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but, yeah, give your money away, shorties."
The $11.5M she's donating is about 1/4 if her net worth. Imagine if a billionaire did that? If Mark Zuckerberg donated 1/4 of his net worth, it would be about $55 BILLION... and he's still have over $100 billion left.
And, yet, unsurprisingly, people are mad at Billie Eilish for what she said and not at the billionaires for hoarding all the money and resources
