Doing an Untamed rewatch with a friend, and we’ve reached Guanyin temple. A lot of the shots of XiYao after Mingjue’s body has been discovered have an interesting quirk. Nie Huaisang is often framed between the two of them. Like he’s splitting the two up.

Rewatching the untamed and thinking things about it.

1. Do you think there was a little tiny piece of Lan WangJi underneath all the joy and relief that, when he heard Wei WuXian playing wangxian on his shitty bamboo flute, was cringing about his beautiful love song being absolutely murdered?

2. Lan WangJi is so relieved to have him back but he is literally immediately in danger of being killed again by Jiang Cheng, I feel like his thought process was something like "why did you have to summon Wen Ning of all the dead people you could have summoned why him? You have basically signed your death warrant and now instead of getting to be happy that you're alive again I just get stress."

3. Do you think there was a tiny piece of Lan WangJi that thought maybe he had just gone insane and was imagining things when Wei WuXian got hit by Zidian and didn't get kicked out of the body? Was there doubt? Confusion? I can't imagine what he must have been feeling the moment before Wei WuXian got hit by it.

when wangxian are hiding and mianmian arrives with her family and she asks ‘who’s there’ and wei wuxian is like ‘nobody’ and lan wangji’s version of eye roll, he’s thinking ‘i tolerate the corpses but do you have to make me crouch here like a peasant, what’s this nonsense, i’m hanguang-jun???’
