This beautiful little grebe was rescued just a few minutes from our centre, after being found, unmoving, in a busy road. Luckily, it was found in the nick of time and had not been injured. Many waterbirds often confuse wet tarmac for rivers and, sadly, come across quite an abrupt landing. As they require a little run up before taking flight, they are commonly left stranded if not helped to water.
