Mitski is the most gamble gig I have ever went. Knowing only one song, First Love Last Spring, I decided, what the heck, she is here now, might as well go and see her. And that is how I ended up buying a ticket to her gig. . Then begin my 3 weeks joirney of knowing her. To my surprise she is known as the Indie Queen with her experimental music, sometimes playing banging beats, high tempo, at times dropping dead slow in songs. But one thing that her songs have in common, they are beautifully depressing. . Did I regret compulsively buying her ticket? No, I get to see a true entertainer who is very commited on stage with her weird movements and gestures. And in between she returns to a normal me and you, geekily playing with the crowds. . I know there is little chance that you will ever read these things that I wanted to say to you after the gig. “I am very sorry that you had to feel so, so, so lonely when you came back your childhood city. I am very sorry that Christmas in Malaysia inspired you to write Nobody. I am very sorry that you had to go through all of that during Christmas. Next time you find yourself lonely in KL again, give a tweet or post on instagram that you’ll be hanging out somewhere in KL. I am sure, now, you will have 200 people coming out to cheer you up. Please, come again, you may not be Malaysian. But look at that night at The Bee, we Malaysia sees you as one of us, you will always belong here.
