So I got into Harry Potter again 🥲 I watched a video on YouTube about flaws and changed the YouTuber would make to the series and it got me thinking and here we are.

I wrote a fic would anyone be interested in beta reading it for me 👉👈

I hate naming my fics so I'm just going to steal my own fic's name. Fake summary for "In loving memory of a broken heart"?

(Feel you, titles are evil) but this title is so beautiful and sad!!!

Fake summary could be "Character reminiscing about OtherCharacter that broke his heart but they still love dearly" (I'm thinking Foggy, maybe Foggy & Karen, mourning Matt and now I'm sad)

like (a) most systems (aka every system i know except for one) is pretty-to-extremely quiet about it*, and (b) marc was married to layla and said NOTHING, and usually spouses are on the very short list of people systems tell. so why the FUCK is he telling a fucking STRANGER, especially considering most fics i've read that do this have marc meeting them in low-to-no trust situations.

*systems are often very open online because it's anonymous, i'm talking about real life.

working together as a system does not mean telling everyone about it. god. i just.

it is clear that marc is not in the narrow subset of systems who choose to (or even have the option to choose to**) be open about it, and did is not one of those things where opening up is helpful/part of self acceptance. like, "hiding" your system is not a bad thing or a sign of dysfunction. the world does not need to know what the inside of your brain is doing.

**a lot of systems (like mine) find opening up impossible. for context, directly talking to my therapist about some things gave me chest pain like i was being stabbed.

it'd be one thing if marc befriended the avengers and then opened up to them, but that's never what happens, it's always "we had one fight, here's something that i probably shouldn't even be telling you."

drives me crazy.

bonus round! sharing that you're a/part of/have a system does not necessarily require you to share things like who's fronting. once again, sharing the Inside Of Your Brain with someone you Just Met is generally a bad idea.

Fiction.

I am obsessed with consuming stories and other people's lives. I do this with movies as well, but I feel like fictional books are a much more immersive experience; it's detailed, and you feel like you live inside the character's head and experience everything.

I don't re-read/re-watch stuff is general but one in particular that I would NEVER re-read is the mistborn trilogy.

Those books are too damn long :))))) my adhd simply cannot

Haha the only thing i remember from art class is my professor yelling at me to draw faster. Do you only/most draw digitally? I’ve been trying to get into it but I mostly just use oil. My digital art always ends up looking like caca so it’s discouraging

Oh man, your prof sounds lame! Not everyone can speed draw; the picture I just posted took 3 hours! Digital is my medium of choice. I sometimes do pencil/pen sketches and I’ve tried my hand at charcoal with some success, but when I try to paint it ends up looking like caca. I don’t have the patience for painting and I like the high level of detail and control that digital art offers. Doesn’t hurt that I’ve had the same drawing tablet for 5 years; I’ve had plenty of time to become accustomed to it.
