Nice customer experiences at a used bookstore

A kid telling me I look like a rockstar because I have green hair.

A woman wanting to hug me after I helped her find a children’s book from her childhood.

An old man, who really loves Lee Child, trying to convince me to read the Jack Reacher books.

I pointed out that a specific children’s book was written by the same guy who wrote the official Birds of Minnesota book and she was like “no shit?”

A dog came into work and took their treat very gently.

Someone brought in their pet rabbit in one of those dome packs for cats and we geeked out over rabbits together.

The young boy who desperately wanted a copy of Watership Down and screamed when I showed him where it was.

My dragon-loving-self freaking out with an eight year old over the newest Wings of Fire graphic novel.

The pre-teen buying Dune because it’d be easier than checking it out at the library for the 6th time. Let me add that he’s READ the book 6 times.

The customer who called me “ma’am”, saw my they/them button, then said “dude” instead. Love you.

Checked out a (an?) used bookstore while running errands the other day and

so about a year ago I bought a nice condition copy of six of crows from a used bookstore and the cashier started talking to me about six of crows. i got so excited. She said she'd read the first one but was scared to read the second one because everyone warned her she would be emotionally destroyed by it. i was like "no, no you have to read the second one! it's so good!" we talked a bit more, and she told me that Nina and Matthias were her favorite. "i really just don't want anything to happen to them. I love them so much."
