Remember what digital purchases, DRM, game-key cards, and the closure of physical brick and mortar shops has taken away from us.
Now all we're left with are digital games that don't go down in price. Ever. And an auction racket that artificially inflates the cost of used games using a fraudulent "grading" system.
We used to be able to get complete, fully boxed games, for less than the price of the cheapest in-app purchase on most games today.
bought a used game. loaded it up. “welcome back, FartJavelin99.” their save is a museum of a life i never lived. quests abandoned halfway. a horse named “Regret.” an inventory holding 124 sweetrolls and one dagger called “Tax Season.” i am a curator now. i walk the halls of their choices. i will finish what they started, but i will not eat the sweetrolls. some boundaries are sacred…
DS games
I’ve wanted these three games in my collection forever, and I got them yesterday! I fricking love retro game stores—I was like a kid in the world’s biggest candy store.
The two Sonic games are complete (original case and manuals) but SF Command is in a reproduction package (authentic cart tho, don’t worry)
Im super excited to play these; especially because im a big fan of the Sonic Advance titles and StarFox in general
Trying to track down a copy of obscure used games (pokemon conquest/ranger) in my semi-small southern town is literal hell but I want to at least try before going to buy online. Our 1.5 gamestops and Facebook marketplace are my only chances
