It's been awhile I know. Both for Tumblr and going to the used book store I mean. Almost to a standstill on language studies. The Duo Owl IS STALKING ME and will tear me to shreds with his/her Great Talons if I'm not careful. I must force myself into regular French, German, and Russian writing exercises if there's any writing neurons left in my work-fried brain. Also - Oh crap! I was in the used bookstore and forgot to look for a book about Sanskrit! 📚🌍🌏🌎☮☯📚😎 I should add, this photo was taken shortly before the store was closing after years at original location. They should have their new, smaller place open by now so I will have to go visit soon. - edited.

Happy International Book Lovers Day! The series that kicked off my love of books is, of course, the Harry Potter series. I was always a reader, but Harry Potter is what made me truly love books. What can I say about the Harry Potter series that hasn't been said over and over by millions fans all over the world? Generation-defining, put the fantasy genre back on the map, encouraged multiple generations to read again, showed that young adult books are not simple or silly stories, I can go on and on. Now, I have finally put my collection back together. Every wonder how people learned to identify bird songs before smart phones and the Merlin app? This is a book that is also a series of flexi records, combining the best of analog media. You wouldn't be able to carry your record player into the woods, though. Unless it was portable.

An online friend (Hi @jeff_ranjo!) recently posted that he wanted to see folks' #Bookshelves because he misses going to #UsedBookstores due to the current #Covid pandemic. Here was the pic I snapped for him along with what I said in the comments, "My #BookCollection is slowly making it's way into the space I am cohabitating with my girlfriend. I had just barely started moving in before the Covid pandemic hit, so it was the gentle, yet aggressive, push needed to just bite the bullet and jump into the frying pan so to speak. That said, #SociallyDistant type visits to my parents place have been few and far in-between- so when I do get a chance to go a few more books come along with me. To end on a happy note and despite this pandemic, I'm the happiest I've ever been shacking up with the girl of my dreams.
